TEACHER WORK DAY AND WORK YEAR. A. The on-site workday for teachers shall consist of seven (7) hours, inclusive of lunch periods. On Fridays and days preceding holidays, teachers may leave once the students are safely dismissed. The parties agree to establish an Elementary Teacher and Learning Committee composed of no more than one (1) elementary teacher from each school plus an MEA representative all of whom shall be appointed by the MEA; and no more than five (5) administrators appointed by the Superintendent. The Committee shall meet monthly. The agenda shall be determined by the MEA appointed elementary teachers. B. 1. The work year for teachers covered by this Agreement will be one hundred and eighty- three (183) days, except in the case of new teachers for whom the work year will be one hundred and eighty-five (185) days. The teachers’ work year will consist of one hundred and eighty (180) days with students and three (3) professional development days. The Monday and Tuesday preceding Labor Day shall be scheduled as professional development days. The Wednesday and Thursday before Labor Day shall be scheduled as student days. There will be no school or professional development scheduled on the Friday preceding Labor Day. The Tuesday after Labor Day shall be scheduled as a student day. The other Professional Development day shall be scheduled during the rest of the school year. The work years shall end no later than June 30. All District-wide initiatives which require training will be scheduled on the Professional Development days set forth above. School nurses shall be required to work an additional five (5) days immediately prior to the beginning of each school year and shall receive compensation on a per diem basis for said days. In addition, each teacher will be responsible for seven (7) hours of professional development each year (July 1st through June 30th) as set forth in Article XXII (Professional Development and Educational Improvement) Section D. Failure to complete the seven (7) hours of professional development will result in a commensurate reduction of pay (For the purpose of this section only, seven 7 hours = 1 day = 1/183 of annual salary). Service on the MEA negotiations team shall satisfy the seven (7) hours of professional development for the year (July 1st through June 30th) following the year in which negotiations commence.

TEACHER WORK DAY AND WORK YEAR. A. The teacher shall initial the sign-in, sign-out sheet upon all arrivals departures, not by a colleague. B. 1. All personnel covered in this Agreement, except high school personnel, shall be required to report for duty ten (10) minutes prior to the arrival of the first scheduled school bus and shall be required to remain five (5) minutes after departure of the regularly scheduled buses for the building involved. High school personnel shall report for duty at the first scheduled bus arrival time and shall remain fifteen (15) minutes after departure of the regularly scheduled buses for the building involved.
TEACHER WORK DAY AND WORK YEAR. A. The teacher work year shall consist of not more than one hundred eighty-one (181) days. B. Because the teaching profession carries with it many demands that cannot be met during the school day, teachers are expected to work at school for a period of time before the student day begins and after students are dismissed. While teachers must ensure that their many obligations are met, they shall have the flexibility as professionals to allocate this time as appropriate to meet the needs of students and the District. C. All elementary school teachers shall receive a forty-five (45) minute duty-free lunch and all middle school teachers shall receive a twenty (20) minute duty-free lunch, except in emergency situations or if block scheduling arrangements at any individual schools would cause the school day to be lengthened by such a lunch period. D. In-service programs for any teacher in-service training days will be developed by a team of administrators and teachers, and will be subject to approval by the Superintendent.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • Work Week and Work Day (a) (Applicable to full-time employees only) The normal or standard work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours, with a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or normal work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours of work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this Article). The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (b) (applicable to part-time employees only) The normal or standard work day shall be seven and one-half (7½) hours per day and the normal or standard full- time work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one- half (37½) hours per week except in those hospitals where agreements already provide a normal or standard work day of less than seven and one-half hours and a normal or standard full-time work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this article.) Part-time employees shall be entitled to overtime pay at the rate of time and one-half their regular straight time hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day or in excess of the normal or standard full-time work week. The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (c) Where the Hospital and the Union agree, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Labour, other arrangements regarding hours of work may be entered into between parties on a local level with respect to tours beyond the normal or standard work day in accordance with the provisions set out in Article 25.01 of the collective agreement.

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week for full-time employees covered by this Agreement shall be forty (40) hours, exclusive of the time allotted for meal periods, consisting of five (5) consecutive work days followed by two (2) consecutive days off. The week shall commence with the shift that includes 12:01 A.M. Sunday of each calendar week and end at the start of the shift that includes 12:00 midnight the following Saturday. The Employer retains the right to modify the work schedules to meet operational needs.

  • Workday and Workweek The regular workweek of a full-time employee in the bargaining unit shall be forty (40) hours and shall consist of five (5) consecutive days of eight (8) hours per day.

  • Weekend Work (1) All ordinary hours of work performed between midnight on Friday and midnight on Sunday shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half.

  • Work Year The full-time work year for all employees employed in EA and ECE job classes shall be a minimum of 194 work days to correspond with the school year calendar.

  • Day Work The Company shall structure the Project Working Hours to include one (1) half-hour rest break to be taken without deduction of pay by Employees working the Project Working Hours on any day (Monday to Saturday inclusive).

  • EMPLOYEE WORK YEAR 9.1 The work year shall be as follows:

  • Normal Work Day The normal work day shall be eight (8) hours and the normal work week shall be forty (40) hours, Monday through Friday, provided however that nothing herein shall be construed as guaranteeing any EMPLOYEE eight (8) hours of work per day or forty (40) hours per week. A single shift shall consist of eight (8) hours of continuous employment, except for unpaid lunch period, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • Regular Work Week The regular work week shall be any five (5) consecutive days, Sunday through Saturday, for a total regular work week of forty (40) working hours, subject to the applicable premiums where provided for in this Agreement. Notwithstanding the above, employees may volunteer to work schedules that fall outside of the regular work week of Sunday through Saturday and may do so, upon approval by the Company, and with no penalty cost to the Company, but with applicable premiums as provided for in this Agreement.
