TEACHING DAYS AND HOURS. A. Student starting and dismissal times are subject to modification by statute or Board policy or administration. However, modifications to the ranges below will be mutually agreed upon by the administration and the Association. The accepted ranges for the starting and dismissal times for the students are: Elementary The range is from 8:30 to 2:30 or 9:00 to 3:00 Middle -- The range is from 8:30 to 3:10 Secondary The range is from 7:35 to 2:30 (Tech/Alternative School) or 7:45 to 2:20 (High Schools) Administration may make adjustments in start/stop times at individual schools on an annual basis as long as they do not lengthen the school day or deviate more than fifteen (15) minutes from the above starting and dismissal times. No teacher will be required to report earlier than 7:30 am.

The teacher’s day will include a minimum thirty (30) minute uninterrupted duty free lunch period.

It is further agreed that K-5 elementary teachers assigned before school or after school playground or bus duties may leave fifteen (15) minutes early on that day, except Friday, or the day after they were involved with the activity. When possible, assignment to such activities will be on a voluntary basis.
