ELECTION DAYS. No wages shall be deducted for time lost on election days. The regular work schedule will prevail for Federal and Provincial elections.
ELECTION DAYS. Work and travel will be arranged to allow employees the opportunity to vote on their own time on recognized state and federal election days unless they are given sufficient notice to enable time to obtain an absentee ballot.

The County does not intend to prohibit employees from being absent from work on election days if employees can charge such time off to a floating holiday, accumulated vacation, or compensatory time. Any employee making claim for time off for voting and not casting a ballot or utilizing the time off for unauthorized purposes shall be subject to disciplinary action.

The period of time shall be granted to each employee at the time of day that best suits the convenience of the Employer.
ELECTION DAYS. International Graduate Assistants who wish and/or are required to vote in their national elections and can only do so at the consular agency, must provide the employing department with both reasonable advance notice and documentation. The employing department will arrange the work to allow the Graduate Assistant adequate travel time to the nearest consular agency where the Graduate Assistant may vote.

Section 1. Employees who have applied for PROMOTION or TRANSFER opportunity and are scheduled to participate in a selection process scheduled during the employee's work time will be granted time off for such purpose if the EMPLOYER determines its service will not be unduly affected by the employee's absence. Employees granted such time off will normally be scheduled to make up the time either before or after the absence provided the makeup time shall not qualify the employee for any premium compensation for which the employee would not otherwise have been eligible. If the EMPLOYER determines it is not practicable to arrange for the time to be made up, the employee shall use earned leave for the absence or, if not available, take it without pay.
Section 2. Subject to the conditions set forth in Section 1 herein, and not more often than twice each calendar year, employees shall be compensated for a selection process administered during the employee's regularly scheduled working hours.
