Temporary Facility Closing. In the event that an Agency facility is temporarily closed (five days or less) due to severe weather or other major disruption that renders the facility non-operational, no loss of pay or benefits shall occur. For all agencies except CJE, should a facility remain open during severe weather or other major operational disruption, employees scheduled to work shall have the choice of taking paid personal time or unpaid time or, if approved by their supervisor, working from home. For CJE, if the Agency has declared an Inclement Weather Workday, per CJE’s Inclement Weather Policy, employees unable to come to work shall have the choice of taking paid time off or unpaid time or, if approved by their supervisor, working from home. Management reserves the right to assign staff to work at another facility if needed. This paragraph does not apply to certain employees who Management determines are expected to work based on their duties or responsibilities at the facility.

If staffing levels are reduced, the Employer will offer leave in order of seniority to be charged against vacation or compensatory time for the number of hours not worked. If employees not designated as “essential staff” are required to leave the facility, reported for work and are present when the facility closing is announced, then they shall be paid their regular straight time rate for the remainder of their normal work day as though they were at work.

  • Temporary Facilities a. The Contractor shall obtain permits for, install and maintain in safe condition all scaffolds, hoisting equipment, barricades, walkways, or other temporary structures that may be required to accomplish the work. Such structures shall be adequate for the intended use and capable of safely accepting all loads that may be imposed upon them. They shall be installed and maintained in accordance with all applicable codes and regulations.
