Time Off to Handle Grievances. The Departmental Shop Xxxxxxx selected by the Union and recognized by the Company shall be allowed reasonable time off during working hours where it is required in connection with the handling of a grievance provided that permission is received in advance from his/her supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld and time spent in handling grievances shall be considered time worked.

Time Off to Handle Grievances. The Union’s representatives and stewards shall be allowed to handle matters regarding enforcement of the collective bargaining agreement during working hours. A Union xxxxxxx with permission of proper authorities may leave his/her assigned work to investigate a grievance or to present matters according to this Agreement or Policy and Rules. The representative or xxxxxxx will provide an estimate as to how long he or she expects to be away from the work area and will strive to keep his or her supervisor updated if circumstances change. Permission shall not be unreasonably denied. The Union and its members will not solicit membership or carry on Union activities with employees in working areas during employees’ work time.
Time Off to Handle Grievances. The Employer shall permit employees, Union officers and designated stewards time off, with pay, to file and process grievances on the Employer’s premises, provided that such time is reasonable and limited and that such activity does not unreasonably interfere with or impede the Employer’s operations. No Union officer or xxxxxxx shall leave his/her work for the purpose of processing a grievance without first receiving permission from his/her supervisor.

  • Group Grievances No more than five (5) grievants will be permitted to attend grievance meetings.

  • Processing Grievances The grievant shall be granted reasonable time off with pay from regularly scheduled duty hours to process a grievance, provided that the time off will be devoted to the prompt and efficient investigation and handling of grievances, subject to the following:

  • General Grievances Controversies may arise of a nature so general as to directly affect the majority of employees in a classification or department, or the majority of all employees. It is agreed that issues of this nature need not be subjected to the entire grievance procedure but may be initiated at Step 2. Attendance at Grievance Hearings initiated at Step 2 may include members of both negotiating committees.

  • Year-End Grievances In the event a grievance is filed at such time that it cannot be processed through all the steps in this grievance procedure by the end of the school year, and if left unresolved until the beginning of the following school year could result in irreparable harm to a party in interest, the time limits set forth herein shall be reduced so that the grievance procedure may be exhausted prior to the end of the school year or as soon thereafter as is practicable.

  • Processing of Grievances (a) Shop stewards shall suffer no loss in pay for the time spent processing grievances or attending meetings with the Employer's representative.

  • MANAGEMENT GRIEVANCES 8.01 It is understood that the Management may at any time file a grievance with the staff representative of the Union and request a meeting with him to discuss any complaint with respect to the conduct of the Union, its officers or committee member, in its relationships with the Company or other employees or with respect to any complaint that there has been a violation of any contractual obligation undertaken by the Union, and that if such grievance by the Management is not settled to the mutual satisfaction of the conferring parties it may be referred to arbitration as set forth in Article VII above.
