Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). 1. The Bath Board of Education will pay for all annual abstracts needed for annual re-certification. Applications for this abstract must be on file before the first pay check in June will be released. 2. The Bath Board of Education will pay for fees for the initial physicals and testing. The Board will also pay for the difference between the cost of an operator’s license and the commercial driver’s license. In-service time required by the CDL in addition to the current four (4) hours annually will be reimbursed at the driver’s per hour rate. The Board will not pay for re-takes of failed tests. 3. The Bath Board of Education will provide additional training, as needed, to assist drivers in taking and passing CDL tests up to five (5) times. 4. Drivers who lose CDL’s due to being unable to pass one or more sections of the test or due to traffic violations, will be removed from employment, as is current practices, should they not pass a physical or eye test required or have their license suspended or revoked. 5. The Bath Board of Education will not pay for drivers to take licensing tests if the license testing is required due to traffic violations. 6. It is the Board’s intention to continue the same pre-trip inspection practice as now in place. If the Board changes to the CDL Pre-trip Inspection Program, negotiations will immediately take place for payment for such inspection time. 7. The Bath Board of Education will pay as above for all regular drivers and first time drivers who agree to drive for at least one (1) school year (180 days). 8. Any driver driving less than the agreed time will owe the Board restitution of the CDL cost paid to them at the rate of 5% for each ten (10) days not in Bath School employment as a school bus driver. 9. The Bath Board of Education shall pay for advanced training ODE classes, scheduled up to one (1) year prior to recertification date.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). All current grounds employees who have a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) are required to maintain a valid CDL as a condition of employment for a position in the grounds department. Any employee hired for or transferring to a grounds department position is required to have a valid CDL endorsement at the time of bidding for the position.
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). 31.1 The Employer will provide training for all employees required to have a CDL. If the training cannot be scheduled during normal working hours, employees will be compensated for the time actually spent in training. The training shall be at the Employer's expense. 31.2 Employees shall be given time off with pay to take the general knowledge exam, endorsement exams and driving tests. 31.3 In the event that an employee is not successful in passing the CDL exam the first time he takes it, he shall be given time off with pay to take the test a second time. 31.4 All initial exam fees and all license fees shall be paid by the District.
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). 32.01 The employer will provide training to those employees required to acquire knowledge necessary to pass the commercial driver's license exam. The employer will make every reasonable effort to schedule “on-site” training during normal working hours. Employees will be permitted time off to participate in the on-site training. 32.02 In the event a Laborer I or Operator is not successful in passing the commercial driver's license exam or loses the eligibility to possess such license, the Employer and the Union will meet and place such employee into another available job he is capable of performing within the City. The employee shall be given a thirty (30) day grace period to pass the CDL exam. If an employee is still unsuccessful, his rate of pay will be that of the new job classification. 32.03 The Employer will reimburse each employee who successfully passes the State of Ohio Commercial Driver's License examination for the costs and fees set by the State of Ohio for such examination. The City agrees to pay for employees’ CDL renewal fees and will allow employees, upon renewal of such driver’s license, to utilize City time when renewing the license, which occurs every four (4) years.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). A. Probationary employees are required to have and maintain a CDL for one (1) year as a condition of employment. B. All seniority employees after one year are required to maintain a CDL, as a condition of employment, in accordance with the following: The City will pay any cost associated with maintaining the CDL. If a seniority employee loses his or her CDL, the following shall apply: 1. If the loss of the CDL is due to an error by the Secretary of State, then there shall be no penalty, but the employee shall be assigned work that can be done without a CDL until the employee obtains a CDL; provided that the employee demonstrates he or she has made a prompt good faith effort to correct the error. At the request of the employee, he or she shall have the time to correct the error with the Secretary of State on City time. 2. If the loss is due to non-work related medical reasons, and a. If the employee is at the steps identified below, then the applicable demotion shall occur: Operator Step 8-10 to Operator Step 7 and frozen Operator Step 5-7 to Operator Step 4 and frozen Operator Step Start - 4 one step demotion and frozen Mechanic to starting level pay and frozen The employee will be frozen at his/her level until he or she has a CDL reinstated at which time the employee will assume his or her previous position with no credit of time towards the next step for the time he or she did not have a CDL; provided that, in cases (a) or (b) above, the employee can do the work of the lower classification with his or her medical restrictions or the work of his or her existing classification that does not require a CDL with his or her medical restrictions. 3. If the loss of a CDL is for other than medical reasons, such as too many points, then the employee shall be demoted the same as if for medical reasons, and the employee can work for 12 months without a CDL. If after said 12 months, the employee still does not have a CDL, the employee shall be terminated. 4. If the employee fails to report any moving violations during the next working day after occurrence, he or she shall receive a level two (2) warning. If his or her license is lost and not reported the next day, then the employee shall be terminated.
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). A. The Board agrees to reimburse each currently employed driver and each newly- hired driver (who has received his or her CDL within sixty (60) days from date of hire or renewal) for the cost of a CDL license. At the time of this agreement that cost is $43/153.50 but the Board agrees to pay that cost plus any increase in that cost required by the state. All such reimbursements shall be made not later than sixty (60) days from the verification of payment by said driver. B. In the event any driver currently employed by the Board loses their CDL, any such driver shall immediately notify the Superintendent or his designee of such failure and said driver shall be immediately considered as voluntarily laid off. If said driver subsequently obtains a valid CDL within thirty (30) days from the date of such failure, then said driver shall be recalled from voluntary lay-off status and returned to his or her previous status without a break in seniority. It is agreed that said driver shall not receive pay nor benefits for any such time during voluntary lay-off status. C. If said driver does not obtain a valid CDL within the above thirty (30) day period, then any such driver's employment will be terminated effective the thirty-first (31st) day and the driver will not be entitled to return to his or her previous status. If the employee does not obtain the CDL license within six months, he shall be subject to termination. Any decision not to retain an employee shall be subject to Article 5.
