Training - Layoff. 127 Employees on layoff status shall be eligible to participate on a space available basis in 128 regularly scheduled layoff training Professional & Organizational Development 129 programs in accordance with xxxxx://xx.xx.xxx/pod/courses-and-workshops/layoff- 130 training/.
Training - Layoff. In the case of layoff, where the reduction in the work force would be out of order in seniority, the Company will provide, prior to the layoff, training to senior employees in order to allow them to displace junior employees under the following conditions: The period of layoff must be greater than two weeks. The senior employees must have two years or more seniority. Employees are only eligible for training for one position. However, if the job in which the training is provided discontinues, another training opportunity will be given. General Training including that for layoffs. All training in addition to that provided for layoffs will be subject to conditions outlined in the following paragraphs: The Company shall establish the length and format of the training period and shall determine the employee's acceptability for the position upon completion of the training. Training will be on an equal and equitable basis. Once the training opportunity is started the employee must complete the training unless mutually agreed between the Company and the employee.

  • Driver Training A. All drivers are to be provided with appropriate training and refresher courses each year in the following areas as a minimum: * Proper use of equipment including communications equipment; * Defensive driving; * Emergency and accident procedures; * Identifying unusual passenger behavior; * Student harassment and bullying; * Conducting evacuation drills; * Sensitivity training in working with disabled persons; * Human relation skills in working with parents, school staff, etc; * General vehicle maintenance and pre-trip inspections; and * Map reading and city street coordinates. The Department of Business and Transportation Services may review Contractors’ bus driver training program, upon request.

  • First Aid Training In the interests of the occupational safety and health of employees, the Employer will undertake an in-service program of first aid training aimed at providing a first aid officer for each department.
