TRAVELING STAFF. Unit members who travel between schools will not lose any of the 30-minute lunch time or full uninterrupted planning time because of the travel.

On Institute and School Improvement days, buildings will close two hours after the end of scheduled activities. During the school year, staff will not have access to buildings on staff non-attendance days. Staff will have access to the buildings eight (8) work days prior to the first required day of staff attendance. Hours on these days will be 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Buildings will be open to staff for two days after the last day of student attendance. Hours on these days will be 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. TRAVELING STAFF. Teachers who are assigned to more than one school on a given day shall receive a stipend of $200 per year regardless of the number of trips made per day between sites. If they typically travel fewer than five days per week, this yearly amount will be prorated. Such teachers shall be notified of any changes in their schedules at least twenty

Bargaining unit members who travel between buildings will have planning time, instructional time (inclusive of travel) and a duty-free lunch equivalent to bargaining unit members at their home base school. Area bargaining unit members will have a duty-free lunch equal to that of the students and not less than thirty (30) minutes.

On a case by case basis, staff may have early access to buildings if the school is deemed safe and ready for teachers to set up their classroom. In addition, on a case by case basis, if a building is deemed to be not ready for teachers to set up their classroom due to summer construction or projects, the time for access may be delayed. TRAVELING STAFF. Subd. 1. Teachers who are under contract with the School District should use school vehicles for school business whenever vehicles are available. Teachers will receive $.30 per mile if they choose to drive their own vehicle and choose not to ask the transportation supervisor for a vehicle. In this case, the teacher must turn in a mileage slip within ten (10) days of the school activity or they forfeit the opportunity to be reimbursed. Teachers who travel between buildings as a part of their daily responsibility during student contact time will be compensated for ten (10) miles for each day that they travel round trip or five (5) miles, if one way is required. Subd. 2. Teachers that are assigned duties, which require a round trip between town assignments, will be provided a school vehicle for such travel. In the event a school vehicle is not available the teacher may apply for payment at $.50 per mile for that travel.
