The "Union Orientations" clause establishes the procedures and rights related to union-led informational or orientation sessions for new employees. Typically, this clause outlines when and how union representatives may meet with new hires, such as during onboarding or within a specified period after employment begins, and may specify the duration and content of such meetings. Union Orientations. New Hires- The Union shall conduct union orientation within two weeks for each new bargaining unit employee. The Union orientation shall be one (1) hour and take place during the employee’s regular working hours with no loss of pay to the employee involved.
Union Orientations. Each newly hired bargaining unit Employee shall, during the Employee’s first or second day of employment, be scheduled at a time mutually agreeable to the parties for an orientation which shall be provided by the Union. The Union orientation period shall be thirty (30) minutes and shall take place during the Employee’s regular working hours.
Union Orientations. A. For bargaining unit employees hired before the start of the academic year, the Union shall be provided at least one (1) hour to orient new members of the district. The Employer shall provide release time for new employees to attend with no loss of pay. The Employer shall forward completed forms to the Union as soon as reasonably possible. B. After the commencement of the academic year, the Employer shall schedule and conduct one (1) new employee orientation per month, starting in October, for any new employee hired. The Employer shall provide thirty (30) minutes during this monthly new employee orientation, as scheduled by the Employer. Up to one (1) representative, as designated by the Union, shall orient new employees during any Union orientation. If the designee is a bargaining unit employee, the Employer shall pay hourly wages to that employee for any time outside of their scheduled workday.
Union Orientations. A. The City and the Union mutually agree that the structure, time, and manner of the Union access to the orientation of a newly hired City employee in accordance with the requirements of California Government Code Section 3557 is as expressly stated in this Article. B. The Union will have access to new employees’ orientation as needed. When the City hires a new employee whose classification is part of the bargaining unit, the Human Resources Manager will notify the Union via email. The City agrees to provide the Union with an equal opportunity to make presentations to new employees. These presentations will not exceed thirty (30) minutes and will be restricted to the employee and a Union representative. Only the Union and no other employee organization will be provided with the opportunity to make presentations to employees in job classifications represented by the Union. C. The Union will be provided with a list including the employee’s full name, classification, department, hire date, and phone number of new hires required to attend orientation within the bargaining unit.
Union Orientations. The Employer and the Union mutually agree to provide new employee orientations. The Employer agrees to allow the Union up to three hours to address the employees. Furthermore, the Employer will notify the Steel Unit designated representative for Local 600 of all scheduled orientations in advance in order to avoid any scheduling conflicts.
