Stewards and Leave for Stewards' Duties. (a) The Employer recognizes the Union's right to appoint up to 12 shop stewards and the Union shall notify the Employer, in writing, of such appointments. Shop stewards shall attend to their union duties so as not to unreasonably interfere with the performance of their duties as an employee. A shop xxxxxxx shall obtain the permission of his immediate supervisor prior to leaving the work station. Such permission shall not unreasonably be withheld. On resuming his normal duties the shop xxxxxxx shall notify his supervisor. (b) Paid leave, with prior permission, may be granted for: (1) Investigation of grievances and assisting any employee whom the shop xxxxxxx represents in presenting a grievance in accordance with Article 8 of this agreement. (2) Attending meetings called by management. (3) Investigation of stadium employee complaints of an urgent nature. (4) Supervision of ballot boxes and other related functions during ratification votes. (c) The Union agrees to provide the Employer with a list of employees designated as stewards for each jurisdictional area.

(c) The Employer recognizes the employees' right to be accompanied, upon request, by a shop xxxxxxx or other Union representative to meetings with the Employer in which the work record of the employee may be discussed. (d) Paid leave, with prior permission of the Employer, may be granted for: (1) the investigation of grievances and assisting an employee whom the shop xxxxxxx represents in presenting a grievance in accordance with Article 8 of this Agreement, providing that there shall be no undue disruption of work; and (2) attending meetings called by the Employer.

Union representatives shall be permitted entry to the Employer's operations, on approval from an Employer's representative, in order to carry out their required duties. Union representatives will not interfere with employees during working hours unless permission is granted by the Employer's representative who may accompany the Union representative.

  • Recognition of Union Stewards and Grievance Committee In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the rights and duties of the Union Stewards.   • Delegation of Services The Administrator may, at its expense, delegate to one or more entities some or all of the services for the Fund for which the Administrator is responsible under this Subcontract. The Administrator will be responsible for the compensation, if any, of any such entities for such services to the Fund, unless otherwise agreed to by the parties or with the Fund. Notwithstanding any delegation pursuant to this paragraph, the Administrator will continue to have responsibility and liability for all such services provided to the Fund under this Subcontract.

  • Services to Other Clients; Certain Affiliated Activities (a) The relationship between the Asset Manager and the Series is as described in this Agreement and nothing in this Agreement, none of the services to be provided pursuant to this Agreement, nor any other matter, shall oblige the Asset Manager to accept responsibilities that are more extensive than those set forth in this Agreement. (b) The Asset Manager’s services to the Series are not exclusive. The Asset Manager may engage in other activities on behalf of itself, any other Managing Party and other clients (which, for the avoidance of doubt, may include other series of the Company). The Series acknowledges and agrees that the Asset Manager may, without prior notice to the Series, give advice to such other clients. The Asset Manager shall not be liable to account to the Series for any profits, commission or remuneration made or received in respect of transactions effected pursuant to the Asset Manager’s advice to another client and nor will the Asset Manager’s fees be abated as a result.

  • Job Stewards (1) An employee appointed as a Job Xxxxxxx shall, upon notification by the Union to the employer be recognised as the accredited representative of the Union and he/she shall be allowed all necessary time during working hours to submit to the employer matters affecting the employees he/she represents and further shall be allowed reasonable time during working hours to attend job matters affecting the Union. Provided that the foregoing does not relieve the Job Xxxxxxx of the obligation imposed upon him/her by his/her employer. A Job Xxxxxxx shall notify the employer and where relevant the principal contractor's representative and the Union prior to the calling of any stop work meeting so that the procedures laid down in Clause 42. - Settlement of Disputes - may be observed before any stoppage of work occurs. (2) Prior to termination or transfer two days' notice shall be given to any Job Xxxxxxx and the Union. Payment in lieu of notice shall not be given. In the event of the Union disputing the decision of management to transfer the Job Xxxxxxx or terminate his/her service, the Union shall notify management within two working days after being informed of the decision of management. The Job Xxxxxxx shall remain on the job during which time a Board of Reference shall deal with the matter. The Union shall, within three working days of notifying the management that it disputes the decision to transfer or terminate the job xxxxxxx, request the Registrar or Deputy Registrar in writing to appoint a Board of Reference to deal with the matter. The Union and the employer shall do all things necessary to enable the Board to sit within ten working days of the management decision to transfer or terminate the job xxxxxxx. If the Board cannot sit within ten working days because of the employer's failure to nominate representatives, or their unavailability to sit on the Board, the decision to transfer or terminate the job xxxxxxx shall be null and void. If the Board cannot sit within ten working days because of the Union's failure to nominate representatives, or their unavailability to sit on the Board, the job xxxxxxx'x transfer or termination shall automatically take effect at the expiry of the period of ten working days. Provided that nothing in this subclause shall prevent the parties proceeding by agreement to have the matter settled by the Commission or a Local Disputes Board set up in accord with Clause 42 (3) in lieu of the Board of Reference procedure. Provided further that nothing shall affect the right of the employer to dismiss a job xxxxxxx without notice for misconduct or refusing duty.

  • NON-TEACHING DUTIES The Board and the Association acknowledge that a teacher's primary responsibility is to teach, and that his/her energies should be utilized to this end. It is agreed that teachers will be relieved of non-teaching duties to the extent possible and practical through the use of non-teaching personnel to perform clerical-type tasks and supervise playgrounds and lunchrooms.

  • Labour Management Relations Committee In recognition of the mutual benefits of open communications and on-going consultation between the faculty and the employer, the Labour/Management Relations Committee will meet on a regular basis and have equal representation for the Union and the Employer. The LMRC will serve as an open forum for the free and candid discussion of matters of mutual concern to faculty members and management.
