Unpaid Parenting Leave. An employee requesting unpaid parenting leave should apply as far in advance as possible stating the date the leave is anticipated and the length of the leave requested. Unpaid parenting leave will be granted for a period of up to twelve (12) months and shall be for reasons associated with the birth or adoption of a child. Any additional leave may be requested in accordance with Article 19.6.

Unpaid Parenting Leave a. A Bargaining Unit Member who anticipated becoming a parent and anticipates leave related to such event shall, within ninety (90) days of becoming aware of the likelihood of such event, notify the Board in writing. Earlier notification would be appreciated.

  • Parenting Leave Parenting Leave consists of Maternity Leave and Parental Leave. Parental Leave includes Paternity and Adoption Leave. An employee who qualifies for Maternity Leave may apply for such leave in accordance with Maternity Leave “Plan A” or Maternity Leave “Plan B” but not both.

  • Unpaid Parental Leave (a) An employee is entitled to a period of up to 52 weeks unpaid parental leave in respect of the:

  • Paid Parental Leave 44.2 In addition, if the Employee is entitled to paid parental leave under the Paid Parental Leave Act 2010 (Cth) (PPL Act) as the primary carer of the child:

  • Extended Parental Leave 22.1 The Board shall grant an extension to the parental leave as provided in Article 21 in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in this Article.

  • Maternity Leave and Parental Leave 8.9.1.1 For the benefits of the Employment Standards Act to apply during the statutory periods set out by the Act, employees must ensure that the appropriate certificate indicated in that Act is signed by a duly qualified medical practitioner and submitted to the appropriate Xxxx or Director.

  • Unpaid Leave - Union Business (a) Short-term leave of absence without pay to a maximum of fourteen (14) days at one time shall be granted to employees designated by the Union to transact Union business including conventions and conferences unless this would unduly interrupt the operation of the department provided, however, that these designated employees shall be paid by the Employer for time lost in attending meetings during working hours whenever their attendance is requested by the Employer.   • Unpaid Leave 6. Accrued compensatory time off may be used at the employee’s discretion, with management approval, after exhaustion of 100% sick leave (No. 3 above). However, FLSA compensatory time off shall not be counted against the employee’s four (4) month (nine [9] pay period [720 hours]) family or medical leave entitlement. Therefore, any use of FLSA compensatory time off under this Section shall extend the employee’s family or medical leave by the total amount of FLSA compensatory time off used.

  • Granting Leave a. An employee shall submit written notification to their immediate supervisor stating the anticipated duration of the leave at least two weeks in advance if circumstances permit, in accordance with the following:

  • Unpaid Leaves Employees on unpaid leaves may not participate in the matching program while on leave.

  • Pregnancy and Parental Leave (a) Pregnancy/Parenting leave will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, except where amended in this provision.
