VACANCIES-PERMANENT. (1) The department shall make transfers and promotions from existing lists within twenty (20) days of the vacancy occurrence for present and future promotional and transfer vacancies. (2) The department shall continue to anticipate for the filling of vacancies and shall have a promotional list available in the prescribed manner. a. 160 days prior to the expiration of a current promotional list, the Human Resources Department shall post a notice of an up-coming exam. The posting will be for 20 days. Upon the end of the 20 day posting, a test date will be announced approximately 50 days from the end of the 20 day posting expiration date and an examination shall be administered. b. Within 20 days, all candidates shall be notified of their written scores. c. Within 20 days, all candidates who took the test will have an opportunity to review their tests, which includes all the markings, and test papers of each competitor shall be open to his/her personal inspection during normal business hours of the Human Resources Department. Each competitor shall be allowed to challenge questions and will have the right to have those challenges answered. In the event that there is no passing score, all candidates who took the test will have an opportunity to review their tests, which includes all the markings, and test papers of each competitor shall be open to his/her personal inspection during normal business hours of the Human Resources Department. d. Within 30 days, all challenges presented by the candidates will be answered by the testing company. e. Oral examinations will begin and be completed within 30 days after the challenges have been answered. f. It is hereby agreed that if this process is followed by the City of East Providence with the cooperation of IBPO Local 569, a promotional list should always be in existence just prior to the expiration date of the existing promotional list or just after the expiration date of the existing promotional list. g. In the event that a promotional list is exhausted before two years, the City will begin the posting process within five days. (1) Minimum Qualifications Required for all Promotions. Graduation from a standard high school or successful completion of an equivalency examination. The following minimum service time shall be required in individual class titles to take exams as of the end of the application period: DETECTIVE CORPORAL. At least three (3) years of satisfactory service as a patrol officer.

VACANCIES-PERMANENT a. When the District determines a permanent vacancy exists in a position, a posting of the vacancy shall be made in each building. Faculty members interested in such a vacancy must indicate, in writing, their desire to become a candidate. b. Any qualified faculty member may submit a written request to become a candidate for a future vacancy. The Superintendent or the Superintendent's designee shall notify a faculty member who has requested, in writing, notice of such vacancy. The faculty member must indicate, in writing, their continued desire to remain a candidate.
VACANCIES-PERMANENT. A. The department shall continue to anticipate and plan for filling vacancies and shall endeavor to have a promotional list available. The department shall continue to make promotions, as soon as is practicable after a vacancy occurs. In no case shall this period exceed ninety (90) days (including probationary Patrol Officers). This list shall be valid for one (1) year, provided, however, that the appointment list for probationary patrol officers shall be valid for a period of eighteen (18) months. In making any appointment or promotion, the Town Manager shall select from the top three (3) qualifiers. If there are multiple appointments or promotions to the same rank during the pendency of the list, the pool from which the Manager shall choose shall contain not fewer than three names for each such position unless there are fewer than three qualifiers remaining. B. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this Agreement, upon reorganization of the Department in conformity with Paragraph C hereof, the position of Deputy Chief shall be filled initially without examination by promotion of the Lieutenant with the most time in grade to the position and the vacated Lieutenant position shall be filled initially without examination by promotion of the Detective Sergeant to the position. The Patrol Sergeant vacancy shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of Sections 5.02 through 5.04, inclusive, of this Article. Thereafter, the positions of deputy chief and lieutenant shall be filled by appointment by the Town Manager in consultation with the Chief of Police. BC The minimum permanent number of personnel in the Warren, Rhode Island Police Department shall consist of twelve (12) Patrol Officers, two (2) Detectives, four (4) Patrol Sergeants, two (2) Lieutenants, one (1) Deputy Chief and one (1) Chief.
VACANCIES-PERMANENT vacancies arising out of organisational change under this Clause shall be advertised internally in the first instance and may be advertised externally. All employees including those on fixed term contracts shall be entitled to apply for such vacancies. Agency staff working for Council may only apply for these vacancies if they are advertised externally.

  • Permanent Vacancies All vacancies or newly-created positions within the bargaining unit shall be posted within seven (7) working days of the date the vacancy occurs in a conspicuous place on bulletin boards in each building. The job posting will set forth the requirements for the position. Employees within the job division in which the vacancy exists may apply for it. The senior employee within the job division in which the vacancy exists applying for the position who meets all of the requirements shall be granted the position. In the event the senior applicant is denied the promotion, the reason for denial shall be given in writing to the employee. If the vacancy is not filled from within the division, then the vacancy shall be reposted for a period of seven (7) working days. Full time and full time school year employees from other divisions interested in the job posting may file a written application with the Employer by the deadline established in the posting. The senior full time or full time school year employee applying for the position who meets all the requirements according to the job description and shall be granted the position. In the event the senior applicant is denied the promotion, the reason for denial shall be given in writing to the employee. If the vacancy is not filled by a full time or full time school year employee, then the vacancy shall be reposted for a period of seven (7) working days. The Employer shall given due consideration to all applicants for the permanent vacancy. In considering an applicant’s qualifications to perform the required work, the Employer shall consider the employee’s ability, experience, training, work record, skills and dependability. The applicant considered by the Employer to be the best qualified shall be awarded the permanent vacancy; provided, however, that if the Employer determines that the qualifications of the applicants are relatively equal, the applicant with the greatest seniority shall be awarded the position. The Employer reserves the right to determine that none of the applicants are qualified and leave the position open or to seek further applicants.

  • Vacancy Posting ‌ If a regular employee is absent from his/her position for more than 24 months as a result of medical leave, such position will be posted in accordance with the provision of Article 12. Upon return to work the regular employee shall be returned to work to a position of equal rank and basic pay.

Whenever a vacancy in the number of Trustees shall occur, until such vacancy is filled as provided herein, the Trustees in office, regardless of their number, shall have all the powers granted to the Trustees and shall discharge all the duties imposed upon the Trustees by this Declaration.

  • Temporary Vacancies The Company and the Union recognize that temporary employees may be required to temporarily provide additional manpower due to vacation, weekly indemnity, excess of work, etc. All temporary employees performing bargaining unit work are members of the bargaining unit and as such all terms and conditions of the collective agreement apply except as herein provided. Individuals may be hired to fill temporary vacancies. Temporary vacancies and employees shall last a maximum of eight (8) calendar weeks. This does not prevent the Company and the Union from mutually agreeing to extend the eight (8) week limitation on an individual basis. However, unless there is written agreement to the contrary, the eight (8) calendar week limitation shall be respected. Should the position be made permanent, the job will be posted as per 9.07(e). Any skills or experience gained by the temporary employee while in the temporary job, shall not be used to determine him more suitable for the position than the employee with seniority who applies. Prior to any layoff all temporary employees will be terminated. Overtime will only be offered to temporary employees after all qualified senior and probationary employees within the classification concerned have refused. Public holidays will be paid to the temporary employees as per the Employment Standards Act Part X (10). Temporary employees will be hired for the applicable classification and wage rate as per Appendix A of the Collective Agreement. Should a temporary employee apply for a job posting and be successful as per Article 9.07 of the Collective Agreement the temporary employee shall then become a probationary employee. The seniority date of a temporary employee who is awarded a full-time position will equal the date the full-time position is awarded. No person, who is or has been employed by the Company outside of the bargaining unit, shall be eligible to work as a temporary employee within the bargaining unit, unless his record of employment with the Company has been severed in excess of one week.

  • Removal; Vacancies Each Designated Sponsor Fund shall have the exclusive right to (i) remove its respective designees from the Board, and the Parties shall take all Necessary Action to cause the removal of any such designee at the request of the applicable Designated Sponsor Fund; and (ii) designate for election to the Board, directors to fill vacancies created by reason of death, removal or resignation of its designees to the Board, and the Parties shall take all Necessary Action to cause any such vacancies to be filled by replacement directors designated by such Designated Sponsor Fund as promptly as reasonably practicable; provided, that, for the avoidance of doubt and notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Section 2.01(e), no Designated Sponsor Fund shall have the right to designate a replacement director, and the Parties shall not be required to take any action to cause any vacancy to be filled by any such designee, to the extent that election or appointment of such designee to the Board would result in the Board having as members, at any time, a number of directors designated by such Designated Sponsor Fund in excess of the number of directors that such Designated Sponsor Fund is then entitled to designate for membership on the Board pursuant to Section 2.01(c).

  • VACANCIES, PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS A. Whenever a teacher is interested in being considered for assignment to any professional position in the district, he/she shall file written notice of his/her interest to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. The Board declares its intention to give full consideration to present staff members in all vacancies in which they have expressed an interest. 1. It is agreed that any vacancy occurring during the current school year shall only be filled on a temporary basis for the remainder of that school year. By May 1 of each year, a list of all vacancies shall be posted in a designated area in each administrative unit. Any teacher with proper qualifications may, within seven (7) calendar days of May 1 and all subsequent postings until August 1 of each year, apply for and shall be granted an interview before such vacancy is filled, with the exception of when reductions in grade levels/subject areas occur in a building allowing first right of refusal to displaced staff for any open positions in his/her individual building. Vacant positions will be posted for three (3) work days after August 1 and prior to the first reported student instructional day of each year. 2. Any teacher requesting transfer between administrative units shall notify the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources by April 30 for transfer in the subsequent year. Involuntary transfers within a building will occur prior to extending consideration to voluntary transfer requests. Before vacancies are filled, the qualifications of each teacher who has requested transfer shall be reviewed. 3. It is agreed that any teacher making written request to be assigned a position whose FTE is less than their current assignment has no guarantee of a future increase in FTE except as provided by the process defined elsewhere in this Article. 4. A vacancy shall be defined for purposes of this contract as a position presently unfilled, one to be open in the future or a new position, and which has no teacher on leave of absence or layoff status with the claim to the position. B. Since the frequent transfer of teachers from one school and/or grade level to another is disruptive to the educational process and interferes with optimum teacher performance, the parties agree that unrequested transfers of teachers are to be minimized.

  • Vacancy Any vacancy occurring for any reason in the number of Managers shall be filled by the Member. A Manager elected to fill a vacancy shall be elected for the unexpired term of the predecessor in office.

Whenever a vacancy in the number of Trustees shall occur, until such vacancy is filled as provided in this Article II, the Trustees in office, regardless of their number, shall have all the powers granted to the Trustees and shall discharge all the duties imposed upon the Trustees by the Declaration. The death, declination to serve, resignation, retirement, removal or incapacity of one or more Trustees, or all of them, shall not operate to annul the Trust or to revoke any existing agency created pursuant to the terms of this Declaration of Trust.
