Vacation Pay Eligibility. Employees in the bargaining unit shall earn paid vacation under this Article. Vacation benefits are earned on a fiscal year basis – July 1 through June 30. The employee may be granted by the superintendent or designee vacation during the fiscal year even though not earned at the time the vacation is taken. The District agrees to the following vacation schedule for members of the bargaining unit:

Less than four years of service: equivalent of 2 weeks Four to ten years of service: equivalent of 3 weeks Ten to twenty years of service: equivalent of 4 weeks Twenty or more years of service: equivalent of 5 weeks Effective January 1st, 2019: Less than ten years of service: equivalent of 4 weeks Ten or more years of service: equivalent of 5 weeks Equivalency is defined as the number of working days per week that a part- time nurse is normally scheduled to work.
Vacation Pay Eligibility. To be eligible for full vacation pay, an employee must be on the payroll as of June 30 of the eligibility year and worked at least 1,500 hours during the eligibility year. Employees who work less than 1500 hours: Any employee who has less than 1500 worked hours will be paid vacation consistent with the following schedule: Less than 10 years 4% Greater than 10 years 6% Any employee, who voluntarily leaves the Company or is terminated prior to June 30 of the eligibility year, will not be eligible for vacation pay exceeding ESA. An employee placed on layoff will receive pro rated vacation pay in accordance with the above schedule. Vacation eligibility may not be carried-over from one year to the next. If an employee quits, they will be paid out for any unused vacation in the current vacation year. At the conclusion of a vacation year an employee will be paid out for any unused remaining vacation. Vacation hours paid shall be considered as time worked and credited when computing vacation pay eligibility. Lost time as the result of a Workers Compensation illness/injury will count as hours worked up to a maximum 16 weeks (40 hours per week) in the vacation year the employee is injured.
