Vacation Shutdowns. Should the Company decide to stop production for the purpose of granting holidays, it will be in the period from 1 July to Labour Day. The Company agrees to advise the Union at least ninety (90) days prior to any shutdown.

Vacation Shutdowns. If it is understood that an employee, who is eligible for weeks of paid vacation in an amount not less than the period of scheduled plant vacation shutdown, will not be eligible to receive a benefit under the Plan for the period of plant shutdown, regardless of whether he/she has taken his/her vacation prior to or is deferring his/her vacation until after the shutdown and regardless of his /her eligibility for unemployment compensation under these circumstances. An employee who has taken vacation during a week or weeks when he/she otherwise would have been scheduled off in a curtailment of production shall not be disqualified from benefits under the Plan, as provided above, to the extent of such week or weeks so taken.
Vacation Shutdowns. The Company reserves the right to schedule shutdown(s) for vacation purposes. The Company shall consult with the Union prior to scheduling a shutdown. In such cases, vacations will run concurrently with the vacation shutdown periods. Employees who become eligible for vacations subsequent to the vacation shutdown(s), but before the end of the year, will be granted vacation pay for the previous shutdown period when they become eligible if they were absent during the vacation shutdown periods. Due to circumstances, it is recognized that some employees may be requested to work during the vacation shutdown periods. The Company shall designate the time of the vacation shutdown(s) before January 31st of the vacation year following discussions with the Union. Except as may otherwise be agreed between the Company and the Union, the total of all periods of vacation shutdowns in any vacation year shall not exceed ten (10) working days (exclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and observed holidays). Employees entitled to vacation pay during a vacation shutdown, who are on the disability roll on the last working day prior to the vacation shutdown and are receiving Accident and Sickness Benefits under the Company Insurance Plan, shall not be required to take vacation for the period of the scheduled shutdown unless the individual Employee makes a request for said vacation period in writing prior to the shutdown. If such request is made, Accident and Sickness Benefits will be suspended during the vacation shutdown. Vacation payment shall be at the effective rate at the time the Employee became disabled plus any intervening Wage Schedule changes.
Vacation Shutdowns. (a) Where practical the company may schedule a vacation shutdown of all or part of its operations for up to three (3) weeks, provided that no less than three (3) months notice is given to the Union and notices advising of the shutdown will be posted on all departmental bulletin boards. (b) The Company maintains the right to schedule various parts of its operation during the shutdown. The employees necessary for these operations will be selected from those employees in the required job classifications who have indicated their desire to work during the shutdown according to Company seniority. Where there is an insufficient number of employees indicating their desire to work, selection will be made in reverse order of Company seniority. Employees who work during the shutdown will take their vacation at a later mutually agreed upon time. The Company will give a three (3) month notice when work will be required during the shutdown.

  • Vacation; Sick Leave During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to not less than four (4) weeks of vacation during each calendar year and sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies and practices with respect to its executives.

  • Vacation Buy Back Employees shall have the option of requesting pay in lieu of time off up to a maximum of 144 hours of vacation time each year, during each year of the contract in increments of eight (8) hrs. Upon resignation, retirement, termination, or dismissal, unused accumulated vacation days shall be compensated to the employee not earlier than thirty (30) days nor later than sixty (60) days following severance of relationship with the school district. 1. For each employee employed on June 30th, vacation time earned shall be credited on July 1st. Retiring twelve (12) month employees with retirement date of June 30, will be credited with their final years vacation time. Upon cessation of employment, an employee is entitled only to those days earned as of July 1st preceding such cessation of employment. There will be no proration when they leave if it is before June 30. 2. Newly employed twelve (12) month ESPs hired after July 1st of any year will receive pro-rated credit of .4167 vacation days per month. Employees hired on or before the 15th of any month will receive vacation allotment for the entire month, and those hired after the 15th of any month will not receive any allotment for that month. Vacation time will not be earned and available for use until the following July 1st. 3. All Vacation days accrued will be rounded up to the nearest whole day. 4. Vacation time will be credited to twelve (12) month ESPs at the end of the day on June 30th following the completion of service through June 30th for that year. Credit for vacation will be granted for actual time worked. No current 12 month ESPs already accrued vacation days will be modified as a function of this agreement. Twelve-month District Office Administrative Assistants and twelve-month Principal’s Secretaries will only work during scheduled holiday vacations and days in which school is closed as needed for emergencies and other pressing matters. Vacation requests will be given at least two weeks in advance, except in the case of emergency.

  • Vacation During the Employment Period, the Executive shall be entitled to paid vacation in accordance with the most favorable plans, policies, programs and practices of the Company and its affiliated companies as in effect for the Executive at any time during the 120-day period immediately preceding the Effective Date or, if more favorable to the Executive, as in effect generally at any time thereafter with respect to other peer executives of the Company and its affiliated companies.

The Employer will give consideration to an employee’s request for vacation between the period of December 15 and January 15, provided the employee will be fulfilling her or his commitment to work either Christmas or New Year’s. (c) Employees may request pursuant to Article 13.08 to have the weekend off prior to or following their vacation. The Employer will endeavour to schedule such request subject to the following: i) Where the weekend off is granted and the employee was otherwise scheduled to work on those days, such extra days will be deemed to be vacation days; ii) The employee must have such vacation entitlement available; and, iii) The weekend off being requested must be contiguous with (i.e. consecutive with) the employee’s original vacation. (d) Prior to leaving on vacation, an employee shall be notified of the date on which to report back for work following vacation if the posted work schedule does not cover the employees’ vacation period, if the information is known to the employer. (e) Full-time employees will be granted time off in single days or multiples thereof upon request, provided the employer agrees to that request. The maximum allotment of these days will be five (5) days.

  • Sick Leave Use An employee shall be granted sick leave with pay to the extent of the employee's accumulation for absences necessitated by the following conditions:

  • Vacation Use Vacation leave balances shall be reduced for actual time not worked to the nearest quarter hour. Absences may not be charged to vacation not already accumulated.

The Executive shall not be entitled to receive any additional compensation from the Bank for failure to take a vacation or sick leave, nor shall he be able to accumulate unused vacation or sick leave from one year to the next; provided, however, such Executive may carry forward from year to year a maximum of ten days of unused vacation leave.
