WELDING TEST. 18.01 Whenever a welding test is required by the employer it is agreed that the employee, while taking such test shall be in the employ of the particular employer who requires the test.

WELDING TEST. A22.01 Whenever a welding test is required by the Employer, costs for the test shall be paid from the Ironworkers Structural Training Fund. Members performing welding work will hold a valid welding certificate for the applicable task.

The employer may, at their discretion, have the option to test welders, being referred by the Union, at the work site in which case the following procedure would apply. For fabrication, the Union agrees to put in place a competitive rate. PAID HOLIDAYS: Labour Day, Christmas Day, Remembrance Day, Canada Day. TRADE PROMOTION: The employer and the Union agree to promote the mechanical industry to the benefit of the employer and the United Association employees. Such promotion may include use of the U.A. label when and where practical. CALL OUT (NEW CONSTRUCTION): When an employee is called out by the employer to work on holidays, they shall receive a minimum of two (2) hours' pay at double (2x) their regular hourly rate, classification premiums included. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, HARD HATS AND WELDING GLOVES: While working in caustics or acids, workers will be supplied with rubber boots and rubber clothing. Raingear, coveralls in particular situations, and fire retardant jackets as required will be supplied by the employer. All welding gloves shall be provided by the employer at the request of the job Xxxxxxx. Should a new employee require a hard hat, it will be supplied by the employer. All protective clothing, welding gloves and hard hats supplied by the employer to the employees shall remain the property of the employer. Should any such item not be returned to the employer prior to termination of employment, the cost shall be deducted from the final pay. Welders required to retest shall retest on their own time and the Company will pay for the test if test is successful. At layoff, any employee classified as a welder whose ticket has expired during employment with the Company shall be provided with the facilities to retest on his own time, and, if successful, the Company will pay for the test. WELDING TEST. Where journeymen are required to take welding tests for certification, they shall, before starting tests, be placed on the payroll of the individual Employer, and shall be paid in accordance with the wage schedule contained in this Agreement. Welders shall be given certification papers on every job (which requires them) upon termination due to reduction in force or upon project completion.

WELDING TEST. Any welder who is required to have a welding ticket to work on specified site shall be tested by the contractor. All materials, fees, and time associated with the test up to a maximum of eight (8) hours per day shall be paid for by the contractor. If a welder fails the test they may be re- tested if time permits, where the contractor will pay the cost for the test only. No time will be paid to the welder for re-testing.
WELDING TEST. If transverse butt-welds are to be used, the poles shall be subjected, at each joint, to a bending load which causes the butt-weld (half circumference) to be under tension. The load shall be varied according to the section and shall not cause permanent set. The load (or the amount of deflection produced) shall be to the satisfaction of the Engineer and sufficient to ensure that each butt-weld is of adequate strength. The Engineer shall witness as many of these tests as he may deem necessary, preferably during the course of manufacture. The manufacturer shall give adequate notice, to permit the Engineer to attend the inspections. Any joint where cracking occurs shall be ground out to the full thickness of the material, rewelded and tested again.
