Xxxxxxxxxxx and Funeral Leave. An employee may use sick leave for making arrangements required by the death of a family member or attending the funeral of a family member, subject to limitations referenced in this Article.

Xxxxxxxxxxx and Funeral Leave. It is understood that bereavement and funeral leave is granted to enable the employee to attend to the personal needs of the family and to fulfill responsibilities that occur as a result of the death of a relative. The days are not vacation days nor are they cumulative.
Xxxxxxxxxxx and Funeral Leave. 1. An employee shall be allowed five (5) working days as funeral leave days not to be deducted from sick leave for a death in the immediate family. Immediate family is to be defined as follows: Mother, Father, Step-Mother, Step-Father, Brother, Sister, Wife or Husband, Son, Daughter, Step-children, Mother-in-law, Father-in-Law, Brother-in-Law, Sister-in-law, Son-in-Law, Daughter-in-Law, Grandparents and Grandchildren, or a member of the employee’s household. 2. An employee shall be allowed one (1) work day not to be deducted from sick leave for the death of a relative of other than above or friend for the exclusive purpose of attending the funeral. 3. Additional time may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent.
