Examples of Long Term Occasional in a sentence

  • A Long Term Occasional Teacher who works more than one LTO assignment in the same school year may carry forward Sick leave and STLDP from one LTO assignment to the next, provided the assignments occur in the same school year.

  • Teachers in Long Term Occasional assignment of less than a full year, and/or less than full-time, shall have their allocation of sick leave and STLDP prorated on the basis of the number of work days in their Long Term Occasional assignment compared to one hundred and ninety-four (194) days in accordance with the allocation in (i) above.

  • Where the length of the Long Term Occasional assignment is not known in advance, a projected length must be determined at the start of the assignment in order for the appropriate allocation of sick leave/STLDP to occur.

  • Teachers in a Long Term Occasional assignment of a full school year will be allocated eleven (11) days of sick leave at 100% of regular salary, and one hundred and twenty (120) short-term disability days at the start of the assignment.

  • C2.3 “Teacher” shall be defined as a permanent Teacher and specifically excludes Continuing Education Teachers, Long Term Occasional Teachers and Daily Occasional Teachers, unless otherwise specified.

  • Placement on the grid shall be in accordance with the Long Term Occasional Teacher's recognized teaching experience and category placement following confirmation by the Board of the appointment to the long term occasional teaching assignment.


More Definitions of Long Term Occasional

Long Term Occasional means a Teacher hired to replace a Teacher on long term leave who shall have the status equivalent to that of a Probationary Teacher covered by this Collective Agreement once they have completed twenty (20) consecutive days of replacing the Teacher on leave. The maximum length of time a Teacher shall be on such Long Term Occasional status shall be two (2) years. In the event that the Teacher is employed beyond such two (2) years as a Long Term Occasional, he shall be granted credit for the time taught for purposes of eligibility for permanency and/or seniority as the case may be. It is further understood that the Long Term Occasional Teacher’s employment may be terminated when the Teacher who is being replaced returns.
Long Term Occasional. Teacher means a teacher who is required to teach for a period of more than ten (10) consecutive teaching days as a replacement for one (1) teacher employed under a permanent or probationary contract. All other Occasional Teachers covered by this Agreement are referred to as Short Term Occasional Teachers.
Long Term Occasional or “LTO” shall mean an assignment of ten (10) or more consecutive days in duration for the same teacher.
Long Term Occasional means a Member of the bargaining unit hired for ten (10) consecutive days in the same assignment for day positions or four (4) consecutive days in the same assignment for night positions to a period of up to one (1) school year. B.4 A casual Member shall be paid the minimum rate of pay for the salary classification in accordance with Schedule A. B.5 In addition to the amounts received under Article B.3, a casual Member shall receive vacation pay as per the Employment Standards Act.
