SCHOOL STAFF COMMITTEES. 1. If the majority of the teaching staff in the school so decide, there shall be established a recognized staff committee in that school.
2. The size and membership of such a staff committee shall be determined by the teaching staff and may include a Principal or Vice Principal. In smaller schools, the staff may decide to act as a committee of the whole.
3. Subject to change by a majority vote of the school staff, the staff committee may consider any issue affecting the teaching and learning conditions within the school and make recommendations for improvement in the total teaching and learning situation.
SCHOOL STAFF COMMITTEES. The staff of each school shall have the right to form a staff committee. When a staff committee is formed in a school, it shall be governed by the following Articles.
1. The staff committee shall consist of the Principal or Vice-Principal, and teachers elected by the staff. If it is desired by the staff of an elementary school, the entire staff may constitute the staff committee. The staff committee should reflect the diversity of the staff.
2. A chairperson shall be elected from the staff committee. The chairperson shall see that minutes of both staff committee meetings and meetings of the whole staff are kept and distributed to the staff and administration of the school.
3. The staff committee shall operate in a consultative capacity without derogating from the duties and authority vested in the Principal of the school by the School Act and the School Act Regulations.
4. The staff committee and administration shall consult on educational matters of mutual concern. Consultation on such matters may be initiated by either the staff or the administration.
5. The staff committee shall report to the staff in a meeting at which the Principal is in attendance. The staff may make recommendations to the Principal concerning the matters under consideration.
6. If requested by the staff, the Principal shall, at the next meeting of the staff, report the rationale for decisions which are contrary to the recommendations of the staff. The rationale for such decisions shall be recorded in the minutes of that meeting.
SCHOOL STAFF COMMITTEES. 1. The Board and the Union encourage each school to develop a staff committee. To this end, staff committees shall:
a. be established at the beginning of each school year, or at any time thereafter;
b. consist of a size and membership to be determined by the staff;
c. review and make recommendations on matters relating to staff concerns.
2. The school administration shall give due consideration to written recommendations put forward by the staff committee.
3. Should the school administration not act on a recommendation of the school staff committee, written reasons shall be provided.
SCHOOL STAFF COMMITTEES. Should the school administration not act on a recommendation of the school staff committee, reasons shall be provided to the staff committee.
SCHOOL STAFF COMMITTEES. 1. The staff of each school shall have the right to elect up to seven (7) representatives from among their members to a joint staff committee with the Principal or designate or designate.
2. The representatives, so elected, shall be recognized as representing the views of the staff of the school and they shall be permitted to meet with the staff outside of instructional hours.
3. The purpose of this Article is to provide a formal vehicle for the staff of each school to give input to their Principal or designate on items directly relating to the functioning of their school. In addition, this Article is intended to provide a vehicle for Principal or designate to obtain formal input from their staffs on such matters.
4. The staff committee shall set its own schedule of meetings. When any member of the committee requests an additional meeting, such meeting shall be held no later than five

2. Each school has the right to establish a recognized staff committee.
3. Staff committee size, quorum and membership shall be determined by the staff.
4. The school committee is entitled to review all school level budget and financial information and all relevant information to assist the teaching staff in making educationally sound decisions.
SCHOOL STAFF COMMITTEES. Shared decision making in the areas of school philosophy, policies, and programs enhances shared accountability and contributes to better decisions, greater identification with jointly developed goals, and greater job satisfaction.
a. There shall be established by September 30 of each school year a recognized Staff Committee in each school.
b. If no Staff Committee is in place, the principal shall by September 30 arrange for a meeting to be held for the purposes of establishing a Staff Committee for the school.
c. The size, membership and quorum of the Staff committee shall be determined by the staff.
d. A Principal or delegate shall be a member of the Staff Committee.
e. The Staff committee shall meet as necessary to discuss issues relevant to the school staff and may:
i. offer advice, make suggestions and submit recommendations to the entire staff for the improvement of educational services in the school;
ii. review and make recommendations to the entire staff on the allocation of school based human and material resources;
iii. study and make recommendations to the entire staff with regard to the delivery of education services within the school;
iv. consult with other school-based groups and develop recommendations to the entire staff on matters of educational concern;
v. have access to information relevant to the school staff to facilitate educationally sound decision-making.
SCHOOL STAFF COMMITTEES. 1. The Board and the CTA encourage each school to develop committees to xxxxxx communication and collegiality among teachers and Administrators through discussion of issues relevant to the teaching staff.
2. Each school has the right to establish a recognized staff committee.
3. Staff committee size, quorum and membership shall be determined by the staff.
4. Proposals made by school staff committees shall be considered by the school administration.
5. Should the school administration choose not to implement a proposal of the staff committee, the school administration will, when requested, advise the staff committee of the reasons. The administration's response is not subject to the grievance/arbitration process.
SCHOOL STAFF COMMITTEES. Staff Committee Each school staff shall have the right to form a staff committee structure which promotes and facilitates a democratic, collegial process in school-based decision making.
SCHOOL STAFF COMMITTEES a. A Staff Committee shall be established in each school if the staff so wishes.
b. The size and membership of the Staff Committee shall be determined by the staff except that the Principal or their delegate shall be a member.
c. Staff Committees shall meet to discuss issues relating to the school staff.
d. The Principal and/or Vice-Principal shall consider all recommendations made to them by the Staff Committee.
e. Should recommendations not be acted upon, the Staff Committee will be advised of the reasons and in writing if requested by the committee.
f. Any provisions of this Article are grievable in regard to process only. Process refers to the procedural steps spelled out in this Article A.22.8.
