Additional Paid Sick Leave. 11.5.1 After exhaustion of paid sick leave, an employee who is ill, injured or disabled may, upon submission, use accumulated vacation leave to avoid leave without pay.

Additional Paid Sick Leave. The District and CSEA recognize the importance of employees staying home when they have symptoms of COVID-19 in order to protect other employees and the community at large. The District shall provide each unit member with an additional ten (10) days of paid sick leave to be utilized if the employee is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and seeks a medical diagnosis from a physician or a COVID-19 test within the first 24 hours of their absence.

  • Unpaid Sick Leave Upon the advice and recommendation of the City Physician, the City Manager shall grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board Rules.

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

An employee who sustains a temporary, recoverable illness, injury, serious disability, or who is eligible for parental leave under the Parental Leave Policy, may be eligible to borrow up to sixty (60) days of sick leave in a twelve (12) month period. This advanced sick leave may be granted by the Associate Vice President of Human Resources or designee at the rate of fifteen (15) days for each year of the employee’s completed USM/State service. The employee must have a satisfactory record of work performance and sick leave usage and must have exhausted available paid leave.
