ASSIGNMENT IN SCHOOL. 1. Assignment within a school shall be based on the qualifications, training, experience, equitable distribution of workload, and personal preference of the teacher, and shall not be used for disciplinary purposes.
2. The principal of the school shall, in consultation with the staff, develop a proposed timetable and list of staff assignments.
3. A staff meeting, staff committee meeting, or department meeting shall be held for the purpose of discussing the proposed timetable and staff assignments for the next school year prior to the principal finalizing the timetable and staff assignments.
4. A teacher's assignment is subject to grievance pursuant to Article A.6 (Grievance Procedure) on the basis that it is unjust or unreasonable in the circumstances.
ASSIGNMENT IN SCHOOL. 22.1 A staff meeting shall be held prior to June 30th annually for the purpose of discussing the proposed timetable and staff assignments for the next school year.
22.2 A staff meeting shall be held to discuss any proposed reorganization of the school.

2. A staff meeting shall be held prior to March 30th for the purpose of discussing the proposed timetable, staff assignments, and teaching requirements of the school for the next school year.
3. A teacher who is not satisfied with a proposed assignment in a school may appeal his/her assignment to the staff committee. The committee may, after hearing the principal, teacher and any other teacher directly affected by any proposed alternative assignment, recommend to the principal that the teacher‘s assignment be changed.
4. It shall not be normal practice for the Board to alter a teacher‘s assignment within a school; however, declining grade and/or course enrolment, and/or budgetary considerations and/or educational considerations may necessitate such an alteration. The Board or its designate(s) will consult with a teacher prior to effecting an alteration in that teacher‘s assignment.
5. Special consideration in assignment may be given to a teacher returning from medical leave of absence with reference to the reasons for the leave and the teacher‘s state of health upon return, and may involve a return to part-time teaching pursuant to Article G.11.1
ASSIGNMENT IN SCHOOL. 1. The following provisions shall apply to changes in assignment(s) including changes made during the year-end staffing process.
2. Alterations in a teacher‟s assignment shall be made only within the teacher‟s teaching position and in accordance with the teacher‟s appointment.
3. Alterations of assignment within a teaching position are not posted.
4. Assignment within a school shall take into consideration academic and technical qualifications, training, experience, [Removed by Legislation / Intentionally Left Blank], number of teaching locations, number of preparations, personal preference of the teacher and the educational and time tabling needs of the school.
ASSIGNMENT IN SCHOOL a. The staff at each school is encouraged to develop a collegial process for determining the timetable and assignments available for the subsequent school year.
ASSIGNMENT IN SCHOOL a. Every reasonable effort shall be made by the principal to inform employees of their assignments for the next school year prior to June 15th of the current school year.
b. All employees within a school shall be informed in writing of all school vacancies and shall be given consideration before posting outside of the building.

2. Assignment within a school shall be based on the qualifications, training, experience, equitable distribution of work-load, personal preference of the teacher, and student needs and shall not be used for disciplinary purposes.
3. Teachers remaining on staff will be notified of their anticipated specific assignment for the next school year by May 31st.
4. A teacher who is not satisfied with a proposed assignment in a school may appeal their assignment to the administrative officer.
5. If the appeal in Article C.27.4 to the Administrative Officer in the school results in no change to the assignment, the teacher may request a meeting to discuss the matter with the Superintendent of Schools within seven (7) days of confirmation of the assignment. The teacher may be accompanied by a member of the Union.
ASSIGNMENT IN SCHOOL a. Assignment within a school shall be based on the qualifications, training, experience and personal preference of the teacher.
b. Each teacher by May 15th shall express in writing to their Principal, their assignment preference for the upcoming school year.
c. At the elementary school level, a staff meeting shall be held prior to May 22nd for the purpose of discussing the proposed organizational plan and staff preferences for the next school year.
d. At the secondary level, a staff meeting shall be held prior to June 5th for the purpose of discussing the proposed timetable and staff assignments for the next school year.
e. A teacher who is not satisfied with a proposed assignment in a school may appeal their assignment to the School Staff Committee. The Committee may, after hearing from personnel directly affected by any proposed assignment, recommend to the principal, that the teacher’s assignment may be changed as per Article A.31 (School Staff Committees).
f. In the event that the School Staff Committee recommends a change and the Principal does not implement the recommendations of the Committee, the Principal shall provide a written rationale.
ASSIGNMENT IN SCHOOL a. Assignment within a school shall consider the qualifications, training, experience, Removed by Legislation/Intentionally Left Blank, and personal preference of the teacher, and shall not be used for disciplinary purposes.
b. Prior to the end of the school year, Principal / Vice Principals shall have discussions individually and with groups of teachers or at staff meetings, to discuss proposed timetables and proposed staff assignments for the next school year.
c. Nothing in this Article will be read as affecting the number of pupils in a class.
d. Where practicable, part-time assignments in secondary schools shall be scheduled in consecutive teaching blocks.
