Assignment Upon Return. The Board cannot guarantee the return of the unit member to the assignment held prior to the leave; however, every effort will be made to return the unit member to a comparable position, acceptable to the unit member. In cases of a RIF (Reduction in Force) when a leave of absence by a unit member not affected by the RIF would reduce the number of layoffs, that unit member shall, upon request, be awarded his/her former position in the following year as a condition for requesting a leave of absence. Upon return, said position shall not be exempt from the procedures of the RIF policy.
Assignment Upon Return. Any employee returning from an approved leave of absence as covered by this article who has complied with all the conditions upon which the leave was approved shall:
Assignment Upon Return. Teachers returning from a leave extension will be assigned a position for which they are licensed and otherwise qualified.
Assignment Upon Return. A teacher returning from child care leave will be returned to their previous assignment if available. If not available, the teacher shall return to an assignment for which they are otherwise qualified.
Assignment Upon Return. A teacher returning from child care leave shall be assigned to the position which he/she left if he/she returns during the school year in which the leave was granted unless previously discharged or placed on unrequested leave of absence.
Assignment Upon Return. Upon return from maternity disability leave an employee shall be entitled to a position in the District except where otherwise provided by law in connection with termination or nonrenewal. The employee will be placed in the original position or in an appropriate comparable position unless the employee requests and is granted a change of assignment. The employee will retain the rights and benefits commonly afforded certificated employees in returning from a leave, including those under the continuing contract laws of the State of Washington.
Assignment Upon Return. An employee who has taken a leave of absence only for the actual period of disability relating to pregnancy or childbirth, or up to twelve (12) weeks of family leave, shall return to the same assignment, or a similar position for which she is qualified, with at least the same pay and benefits as she held prior to the maternity leave. Upon return from an extended maternity leave, an employee shall be entitled to a position in the District subject to the availability of a position for which she is qualified. An effort shall be made to place the employee in her original position, or in a comparable position.
Assignment Upon Return. At the expiration of the sabbatical leave of absence, the Bargaining Unit member shall be assigned to a comparable position, but no guarantee can be given that it will be the same position he/she occupied at the time the leave was granted.
Assignment Upon Return. The principal shall return to the same position if the position is still in existence. If the position is closed, the principal shall be reassigned by Human Resources in accordance with Administrator placement protocols. If no position is available for which the principal is licensed, the principal shall be placed on itinerant status until a position is available. Failure to accept assignment in accordance with this section shall be considered grounds for discharge under M.S. 122A.41.
Assignment Upon Return. A teacher returning from sabbatical leave will be assigned to the same position held when the sabbatical leave commenced or, if unavailable, to a substantially equivalent position unless the teacher has been previously discharged or placed on unrequested leave.
