Bilingual Incentive. Employees who are bilingual in Spanish and English and whose skills are actively utilized by the Department shall be compensated with an annual stipend payable on December 1 of each year in which they are qualified in the amount of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). Employees must pass a translation test conducted by a certified court interpreter (or other evaluation method approved by the county) to qualify for the Bilingual Incentive.

Bilingual Incentive. 3.2.1 Effective during the Term of this MOU, individuals who apply for and are certified by the City to possess appropriate Spanish language skills shall receive one hundred dollars ($100.00) per month. Certification or recertification of bilingual skills may be required every three (3) years. Certification or recertification shall be at the City’s discretion and expense.

Successfully passing with a proficiency rating of no less than three. $150 per month Tier #2. Successfully passing with a proficiency rating of no less than four. $200 per month Tier #3. Successfully passing with a proficiency rating of no less than five. $250 per month The City Administrator shall determine the number of bilingual positions and tier levels needed for each department.
Bilingual Incentive. An employee represented by this MOU is eligible to earn pay above the normal pay rate if the employee passes a bilingual exam administered by the City as follows. No employee will be compensated for more than one identified bilingual skill (i.e. an employee represented by this unit cannot receive Spanish/English bilingual pay as well as ASL bilingual pay). The parties agree to explore testing or certification for Latin American indigenous languages and will negotiate a specific pay incentive for such bilingual skills once a testing or certification tool has been identified and agreed to by both parties. The City Administrator shall determine the number of bilingual positions and tier levels needed for each department.
Bilingual Incentive. Effective the month following ratification of this agreement, members who qualify for bilingual incentive under City policy will receive additional compensation of $1.00 per hour for all hours worked.
Bilingual Incentive. An employee shall be eligible to receive a 0.75% Spanish language premium if they provide the City with proof on an annual basis that they meet standards acceptable to the City. Employees fluent in Spanish, as determined by an objective standard acceptable to the City and demonstrated annually, shall receive a premium of 2.5% instead of the 0.75% Spanish language premium. The City may determine that other languages qualify for the foregoing bilingual incentives based on a demonstrated need.

Bilingual Incentive. Employees who are bilingual in Spanish and English and whose skills are actively utilized by the Department shall be compensated with an annual bonus payable on the last payday preceding December 1 of each year in which they are qualified in the amount of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00). Employees must pass an American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) speaking test –at the Intermediate – High Level in order to qualify for the Bilingual Incentive. If a majority of the employees who actively utilize Spanish are unable to certify at the Intermediate – High Level, the County will consider reducing the certification level to a lower level.
Bilingual Incentive. 2.1 Employees designated by the Department Head and approved by the City Manager who have passed a proficiency examination administered by the City shall receive a monthly bilingual supplement of $150.00. The City Manager has the discretion in determining eligible languages.
