Building Closings. In any situation (such as severe weather, hazardous road conditions, heating plant failure, etc.) when in the opinion of the Superintendent of Schools it is necessary to discontinue classes for pupils in any one school building or in the entire District, information will be provided through a designated radio station or by telephoning the employee. Employees shall be paid the number of hours they were scheduled to work that day. Employees may be required to work on days when school is canceled for students. Work performed on such days will be reasonably associated with regular job duties. Such determination will be made at the sole discretion of the Superintendent. In the event that all District employees are required to work, there will be no additional compensation provided for employees.

Building Closings. Section 1. Should the Employer close the agency office or any of its facilities due to an emergency, an employee who is scheduled to work on such day in the office or facility that is closed, or in the alternative scheduled to work at home, shall receive their regular straight time compensation for such day, or appropriate portion thereof. If the Agency office is closed, but an employee is scheduled for court and/or home visits, this section shall not apply. Employees who are scheduled to attend a mandated training at the Regional Training Center or other location that remains open, shall attend the training, unless the employee deems it unsafe to travel. For any missed mandated training the employee shall promptly take steps to reschedule this training no later than twenty-four (24) hours after cancelling.
Building Closings. Whenever an employee is sent home early because of closing a district building for any reason, said employee shall receive his/her normal compensation for that shift just as if he/she has, in fact, completed his/her scheduled work day.

The Building Principal or Director of Special Education may also require individual members of the bargaining unit to report or work remotely.
