Building Closures. Notwithstanding the above, if a building closes, an employee thereby may fill any vacant position in their classification series on the basis of seniority, consistent with Section A, above, and, if no such vacancy exists, said employee may bump the least senior employee in their classification series, on the basis of seniority.

Building Closures. A. Buildings will be identified for closure prior to the date that open positions are posted. The District will make every attempt to notify staff of a building closure prior to the internal posting period.
B. Teachers that are impacted by a school closure will be subject to the involuntary transfer procedures as outlined in this article and will be asked for their placement preference should the District have more than one placement available to which they qualify and allows for the least amount of staffing impacts.
C. Teachers in Districtwide programs will be reassigned in accordance with section II.C.

Building Closures. In the event of a building closure, where any reduction in enrollment does not result in a reduction in staff, then no certificated position in the affected buildings shall be declared vacant except in cases of voluntary transfer, retirement, leave of absence, death, or resignation. The certificated employee in the closed building shall have a one-time only first option for any vacancy in the District for which s/he is qualified.
