CONFERENCE/WORKSHOP ATTENDANCE. The Association recognizes that the intent of the Board providing this leave is to allow teachers an opportunity to acquaint themselves with outstanding examples of education projects and to attend select professional conferences which should result in benefits to the Lakeshore Public Schoolseducational program. The Board agrees to provide upon application (after the visitation or conference is completed) reimbursement for appropriate travel and conference expenses. The Board reserves the right to establish limits on travel and conference expenses or determine in advance which expenses (and at which level) are appropriate. Approval to attend shall be obtained from the Principal and Superintendent. The number of teachers allowed to leave at any one time shall be within the discretion of the administration. Nothing in this clause shall prevent the Superintendent from granting the leave request with the understanding that the teacher assume part or all of the expenses involved except the cost of the substitute teacher. All approved reimbursement claims will be paid within established budget limitations. R: 74, 77, 80, 03, 06 1. CONFERENCE/WORKSHOP ATTENDANCE. All teachers are encouraged to attend conferences, workshops, and seminars relating to the individual teacher’s area of instruction. Teachers requesting release time for conferences, workshops, or seminars must submit a conference approval form to the Superintendent at least ten (10) days prior to the said date of absence. If approval is granted by the Superintendent or designee, the allowable per diem expenses will be reimbursed to the teacher upon presentation of suitable receipts, following the conclusion of the conference, workshop, or seminar. Major expenses such as airline tickets and registration fees which have to be paid prior to attendance and which exceed $190 will be reimbursed within thirty (30) days of presentation of suitable receipts, provided that a teacher will be required to repay the District for any expense so reimbursed if the teacher for any reason does not attend the conference, workshop, or seminar. Such expenses must be disclosed on the conference approval form and approved in advance by the Superintendent.
CONFERENCE/WORKSHOP ATTENDANCE. Continuing and Fixed-Term Language Teachers shall be entitled to apply for Non- Specific Duties days (NSDs) and financial support for local, national and international conference/workshop attendance. Papers shall normally be presented for the Language Teacher to be eligible for financial support. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis.

CONFERENCE/WORKSHOP ATTENDANCE. An Employee may be authorized by the C.E.O. to attend a conference or workshop. When an Employee is so authorized, he/she will receive his/her regular hourly rate of pay for all such time spent at the conference or workshop. Such time shall not be overtime. Any time spent with associated travel, shall not be considered as time worked or overtime for the purposes of determining the Employee's pay.

  • Conference Attendance The Federation will be entitled to five (5) person days per year release time for designated Federation representatives to attend conferences. All conference expenses will be the responsibility of the Federation, unless funding is requested and approved through regular District processes for conference attendance.

  • Conference Telephone Meetings Directors or members of any committee of the Board may participate in a meeting of the Board or such committee by means of conference telephone or similar communications equipment by means of which all persons participating in the meeting can hear each other, and such participation in a meeting shall constitute presence in person at such meeting.

  • Conference Leave Upon written request, supported by a copy of an invitation, an employee shall be granted leave paid at full salary of up to two thirty-fifths of their Appointment Contract(s) to present papers at academic conferences. Such leave shall not be claimed if an authorized exchange of services agreeable to the employee can be arranged.

  • Attendance MPS shall allow any Charter School pupil who meets MPS admission standards to enroll in an MPS School, in accordance with MPS Student Assignment Policies, as amended from time to time, unless such pupil has been expelled from Charter School.

  • Conference Promptly after the execution of this Contract, Contractor shall confer with the Program Manager, Design Professional, Owner, and Using Agency to identify personnel and relevant organizational charts of each team member, and to establish working relationships with each team member.

  • PRE-JOB CONFERENCE a) The Employer shall notify the union that a project has been awarded to the Employer following the award. Prior to the start of each project, a pre-job conference shall be held to determine all site-specific issues as outlined in the Agreement. This conference may be conducted via telephone, through a scheduled meeting or by some other practical means as agreed to by the parties. b) A copy of the pre-job conference report shall be provided to the Employer, the Union and the Job Xxxxxxx (s). A copy shall also be posted on the bulletin board(s) at the jobsite.

  • Conferences At the request of the State or the Engineer, conferences shall be provided at the Engineer's office, the office of the State, or at other locations designated by the State. These conferences shall also include evaluation of the Engineer's services and work when requested by the State.

  • Attendance at Meetings Any employee required to attend Occupational Health and Safety Committee and/or Board of Management meetings in the capacity of employee representative shall, if such meetings are held outside the ordinary hours of work, be entitled to receive ordinary pay per hour for the actual time spent in attendance at such meetings. In lieu of receiving payment, employees may, with the agreement of the employer, be permitted to be free from duty for a period of time equivalent to the period spent in attendance at such meetings. Such time spent shall not be viewed as overtime for the purposes of this Agreement.

  • Conference Committee The Conference Committee shall meet at least quarterly. It shall consist of the three elected representatives of the nurses plus one clinical unit representative appointed by the nurse bargaining unit, and an Association staff member, and five representatives of the Employer to include the Chief Nursing Executive and/or designee and one member of the Employer’s contract negotiating team. The purpose of the Conference Committee is to act in an advisory capacity to xxxxxx problem solving through communications between the Employer and nurses in the bargaining unit and deal with matters of nursing practice and general concern to the parties. Major organizational or policy changes in the nursing department that have a direct bearing on nursing practice or working conditions shall be an appropriate subject for discussion by the Conference Committee. Attendance at Conference Committee will be considered work time and will be paid at the regular rate of pay. A general group “grievance” as defined in this Agreement coming before the Conference Committee which is not resolved by the parties may be submitted in accordance with Article 18 at Step Two of the Grievance Procedure.

  • Court Attendance Any employee covered by this Agreement who may be required to attend any commission, court or hearing, to give evidence in any case, civil or criminal respecting the hotel in which they are employed, shall be compensated at the same hourly rate as called for in this Agreement, with a minimum of four (4) hours pay.
