Contract Sick Leave. Members of the bargaining unit will be granted twelve (12) days contract sick leave with pay based upon the following schedule for each fiscal year, all such leave to be credited and made available on the first contract service day of each fiscal year for returning employees and on the first day of service for new employees. For unit members who are on 177-day contracts, each unit member will receive a total of seventy-two (72) hours of contract sick leave per fiscal year where each hour consists of 60 minutes. Unit members who are on 194-day teaching contracts, each unit member will receive a total of eighty (80) hours of contract sick leave per fiscal year where each hour consists of 60 minutes. For unit members who are on 194-day/35-hour contracts, each unit member will receive a total of eighty-four (84) hours of contract sick leave per fiscal year where each hour consists of sixty (60) minutes. Unit members who are on 194- day/40-hour contract, each unit member will receive a total of ninety-six (96) hours of contract sick leave per fiscal year where each hour consists of 60 minutes. Unit members who are on partial year contracts will receive that percentage of sick leave which is the same as the percentage that their contract bears to the fiscal/academic year. (Example: a 177-day contract employee who is employed for 50% of the academic year will receive 50% of the sick leave, or thirty-six (36) hours.) Contract sick leave unused in one academic year will be accumulated indefinitely and be made available to unit members in subsequent years of employment. On the first service day of each new contract year unit members can access information on their accumulated sick leave hours via Webstar or other online portal maintained by the District, or upon request to the District’s Human Resources Department.

(Example: an 11 month employee who is employed for 50% of the academic year will receive 50% of the sick leave, or thirty-six (36) hours.) Contract sick leave unused in one academic year will be accumulated indefinitely, and be made available to unit members in subsequent years of employment. Contract Sick Leave. The City hereby agrees to grant employees contract sick leave accrual at the rate of 10 hours, minus State Sick Leave Accrual, for each calendar month of service, not to exceed a total accrual of 1060 hours. New employees shall receive a bank of 216 contract sick leave hours and, except as provided hereafter, shall not accrue sick leave during the first two years of their employment. If at the beginning of any month the officer’s bank is below 216 hours, the officer shall begin accruing contract sick leave until such time as their contract sick leave bank again has 216 hours. New officers transferring from other City bargaining units will carry over any previously accrued sick leave as a new Police Guild member, and, if their contract sick leave bank is less than 216 hours, the transferee’s contract sick leave bank will be brought to 216 hours. If their contract sick leave bank is over 216 hours, the transferee will retain their full contract sick leave bank, but will not have any additional hours added to that bank. Such transferee’s service as a City employee shall be credited towards the two year requirement referenced above. Employees may use accumulated contract sick leave for the following reasons:

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Sick Leaves a. After the first year of full-time employment, a full-time faculty member who, by reason of personal illness or a medically certified disability is incapable of performing the regular duties of a faculty member, shall be entitled to a sick leave, with full pay (in lieu of contract salary which otherwise would be earned), for a period not to exceed six months. In no event, however, shall the University’s payment for sick leave exceed one-half (1/2) of the faculty member’s then prevailing annual contract salary. If the faculty member receives governmental disability benefits and/or workers’ compensation benefits during the period of absence, the faculty member shall be paid the difference between the benefits received and the benefits provided above.

  • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above. An employee who is eligible may apply for Employment Insurance for weeks three (3) through seventeen (17) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. The Home will provide the employee with Disability Income Protection as per Article 14.01 (c) for weeks eighteen (18) through thirty (30) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. Employees may be required to provide medical proof of illness for any absence of a scheduled shift, which is neither vacation nor an approved leave of absence.

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave (a) (i) An employee is eligible to accumulate sick leave with full pay at a rate of fifteen (15) working hours for each one hundred sixty-two point five (162.5) hours of service.

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.

  • Sick Leave Donation In accord with state law and Medical Center policy, RN’s may donate sick leave to any employee entitled to receive such donations.

  • Pregnancy Sick Leave Leave for illness of a Nurse arising out of or associated with a Nurse’s pregnancy prior to the commencement of, or the ending of, pregnancy leave granted in accordance with Article 13.00, may be granted sick leave in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement.

  • Sick Leave Use Sick leave will be charged in one-tenth (1/10th) of an hour increments and may be used for the following reasons:
