Education Supplement. An employee’s base hourly rate shall be increased by the following 34 amount for holding the following degrees: 35 Associate’s Degree $.25 36 Bachelor’s Degree $.50 37 Master’s Degree $.75 38 39 These amounts are not cumulative (e.g., an employee with a Bachelor’s degree is entitled to an 40 additional $.50 per hour). The education supplement will be effective the first full pay period 41 following submission of proof of attainment of degree. 42

Education Supplement. The education supplement is paid to employees who have fully completed a basic de- gree or vocational or specialized vocational qualification in a field relevant to their work. The education supplement is paid in addition to the employee’s personal salary. Only qualifications completed after 1 January 1997 entitle the holder to the education supplement. To receive the education supplement the qualification must be fundamentally related to the employee’s current tasks and the employee must present an appropriate certifi- cate verifying the qualification. The education supplement will be paid from the begin- ning of the salary payment month that follows the presentation of the certificate. Depending on the qualification, the education supplement can be equivalent to 2%, 3% or 5% of the employee’s task-specific salary in accordance with the competence classification table: • basic degree 2 % • vocational qualification 3 % • specialized vocational qualification 5 % The education supplement is only paid for one qualification at a time, which is always the highest applicable qualification. TRANSFER TO THE NEW WAGE SYSTEM This new wage system will come into effect on 1 January 2011 and entirely replaces the previous KIPARE Wage System for the Property Services Sector and the Wage System for the Cleaning Sector from that date. Competence classifications according to the new system must be made by 30 June 2011. If an employee’s individual salary does not correspond to the minimum salary deter- mined in the wage system after the new competence classification, the salary must be revised to correspond to the minimum according the new system. If an employee’s individual salary calculated according to the new competence classifi- cation is lower than his or her previous salary, the salary may not be revised down- wards when adopting the new system. In this case individual salary includes a salary portion that can later be removed in conjunction with pay rises. The work experience supplement according to the old Wage System for the Cleaning Sector and the personal salary portion of the old KIPARE wage system must remain, the quantity remaining the same in euros, in the form of employees’ personal supple- ments, which may not be removed in conjunction with pay rises until 1 January 2013. Education Supplement. 42 43 All grandfathered teachers will continue to earn advanced degree and course work supplements in concert 44 with the Grandfathered Salary Schedule. 46 3. Longevity 48 Grandfathered teachers will continue to receive longevity payments in accordance with those procedures 49 outlined in Appendix A of the previous Agreement. Longevity payments will be automatically increased by 50 that amount added to the Grandfathered Salary Schedule through negotiations. 51 52 4. Need-Based Salary Supplements 54 Need-based salary supplement(s) will be paid to a teacher if they meet the qualifications for said supplements. 55 Need-based salary supplements do not become part of the teacher’s base salary. Eligibility for need-based 1 salary supplements is determined annually. The yearly negotiated performance-based supplement will not 2 be automatically applied to the need-based supplements. They will be subject to yearly re-negotiations and 3 will be paid at the end of the school year in one lump sum. Teachers must be working at that assignment as 4 of May 1st in any given school year to qualify.
Education Supplement. 37 Upon ratification of the 2015-2016 Agreement, teachers on the Performance Salary Schedule are eligible 38 to receive an annual education supplement upon conferral of an advanced degree and who have not 39 received salary credit for that same degree on the former pay scale, as described below: 40 41 MA $5,000.00 ($5,000 over BA) 42 Doctorate $10,000.00 ($5,000 over MA) 44 In addition to the MA and Doctorate education supplements, for those teachers who move from the 45 Grandfathered Salary Schedule: those with a BA+30 credit at the time of the move will receive an addi- 46 tional education supplement of $2,500 for earning a Master’s degree and those with MA+45 at the time 47 of the move will receive an additional education supplement of $2,500 for earning a Doctorate degree.

Education Supplement. If the nurse attends a hospital preapproved education session less than their work shift length and the remainder of their work shift is four (4) hours or less, they will have the option at the time of approval to choose to work, take accrued leave or take time off with no pay for the remainder of that shift. If no choice is made at time of approval, accrued leave will be applied to cover those hours. For example, a twelve (12) hour staff member attends an eight (8) hour class that ends at 4:00 p.m. and the staff member’s regular shift ends at 8:00 p.m. the options for that staff member include: returning to work until 8:00 p.m., taking accrued leave or electing unpaid time for the remainder of that twelve (12) hour shift.
