Elementary Prep Time. 1. Elementary certificated employees (excluding elementary itinerant music and elementary itinerant physical education teachers) shall have a minimum of five hours of prep time during a two week period. Grade kindergarten – 3 classroom teachers will have one (1) additional preparation period of 50 consecutive minutes each at least 34 times within the school year. Grades 4-6 classroom teachers will have two (2) additional preparation periods of 50 minutes each (at least 61 times within the school year).
2. Elementary itinerant music and itinerant elementary physical education teachers shall have a minimum of five hours of prep time during a two-week period. Itinerant music and itinerant physical education teachers will have 25-1/2 hours of additional preparation during the year, but the time need not be consecutive.

In addition, effective with the 2020-2021 school year, Grades K-3 classroom teachers will have an additional 50 consecutive minutes at least 27 times per year for the purpose of collaboration with other grade level colleagues guided by the principal. The site administrator shall first schedule a collaboration period in every week (up to 27 weeks) that has two PE periods, then schedule any remaining collaboration periods in weeks with one PE period.
3. Grades 4-6 classroom teachers (including Special Education Resource and Intervention Teachers) will have two (2) additional preparation periods of 50 minutes each (at least 61 times within the school year).
4. Elementary itinerant music and elementary itinerant physical education teachers shall have a minimum of five hours of prep time during a two-week period. Itinerant music and itinerant physical education teachers will have 25½ hours of additional preparation during the year, but the time need not be consecutive.
Elementary Prep Time. It is the intent of the Board and Xxxxx Education Association to continue to work collaboratively to enhance the elementary prep time program.

The Board agrees to continue its practice regarding teacher preparation time for elementary teachers during those times when students receive instruction from special area teachers such as teachers of art, music or physical education. The Board will provide an average of at least two hundred fifty (250) minutes per week of teacher preparation time for each full-time elementary teacher of regular education classes, prorated for part-time. The district will strive to schedule at least one (1) preparation period per day for each Elementary teacher. Elementary special area teachers and other teachers with similar schedules, will also be scheduled for an average of at least 250 minutes of preparation time, but such time may not be scheduled in the same manner as for elementary teachers of regular education classes.
2. For elementary teachers, the 250 minutes of preparation time will normally include periods of at least twenty (20) minutes each. For elementary special area teachers and other teachers with similar schedules, the 250 minutes of preparation time may include time contiguous with any non-classroom time within the school day.

The Board agrees to continue its practice regarding teacher preparation time for elementary teachers during those times when students receive instruction from special area teachers such as teachers of art, music or physical education. The Board will provide an average of at least two hundred forty (240) minutes per week of teacher preparation time (exclusive of recess time) for each full-time elementary teacher of regular education classes, prorated for part-time. The District will strive to schedule at least one (1) preparation period per day for each Elementary teacher. Elementary special area teachers, special education teachers, and other teachers with similar schedules, will also be scheduled for an average of at least 240 minutes of preparation time, but such time may not be scheduled in the same manner as for elementary teachers of regular education classes.
2. For elementary teachers, the 240 minutes of preparation time will normally include periods of at least twenty-five (25) minutes each. For elementary special area teachers and other teachers with similar schedules, the 240 minutes of preparation time may include time contiguous with any non-classroom time before or after the students' day or the students' lunch period. A reasonable amount of passing time will be provided between classes.
3. Elementary building principals will meet with special area teacher representatives while preparing future schedules to attempt to schedule in accordance with the Association request. Any recommendation for additional staff, or otherwise involving cost to the District, is subject to Board approval. When elementary specials are being scheduled, a voluntary representative from each special area will be invited to participate.
Elementary Prep Time. The board and the Education Association being unable to reach a negotiated procedure agree to abide by the components of State law.
Elementary Prep Time. In grades K – 5, full- time certificated teachers are to receive 290 minutes of preparation time each week, except for weeks in which there is an early student release or special schedule in which prep time will be reduced in proportion to the amount of release time. In the event a full-time teacher cannot be provided daily preparation time, the principal/designee will confer with the teacher regarding the rationale for the scheduling. If desired by the teacher, effort will be made to provide daily preparation time; however, the final decision rest with the principal as to how preparation time is provided. For teachers that team teach (2 teachers in the same teaching space at the same time teaching 2 classes), one half hour of joint prep time per week is required so they can plan together. This prep time may be before or after regular classes so as to not interfere with scheduling for maximum use. Best-faith effort will be made to include Specialists input in scheduling.
Elementary Prep Time. The use of the 15 minutes before school shall be determined by a majority vote of the staff in the elementary schools.
Elementary Prep Time. All Elementary teachers shall receive a minimum of thirty (30) consecutive minutes of preparation time every day, with a minimum of two hundred and ten (210) minutes per week during which they will not be assigned to any other duties. The preceding shall not apply to school weeks of less than five (5) days. In addition to the foregoing preparation time, teachers in grades Kindergarten through 4th grade shall receive fifteen minutes of preparation time every other week, in the form of an extension of Library period. Fifth grade teachers shall receive an additional fifteen minutes of preparation time every other week in the form of the teacher being released from Fine & Performing Arts for fifteen minutes.
Elementary Prep Time. (1) The use of the 15 minutes before school shall be determined by a majority vote of the staff in the elementary schools. Each full-time elementary teacher shall receive a minimum of 240 minutes of prep time within the contract day per 5-day work week which includes specials and when specialists are absent, substitutes shall be hired, as available, to cover their responsibilities.
