Physical Education Teachers. 16-1. The time allotment for physical education classes will be reviewed and clarified.

Physical Education Teachers. Elementary physical education teachers shall have a secure area for equipment storage.
Physical Education Teachers. This professional development will focus on CPR and Life Guard Training to meet the yearly certification renewal requirement. In addition, they will learn to modify the general education PE curriculum to meet student needs. This professional development will focus on alignment of program practices to ensure compliance with requirements. The District professional development will also focus on the characteristics and adequacy of student safety plans, confidentiality practices, crisis team interventions. The content of the District-provided professional development for the second half of Day 2 will be assessment. During this half-day professional development, K-2 teachers will have the opportunity to work with the early childhood assessments: KDPR and DRA2. Teachers will gain practical experience in applying this assessment information to instructional planning. Teachers in grades 3-5 will be provided with an over-view of the logistics of the Assess2Learn (A2L) testing and practical, hands-on experience of accessing reports for instructional planning and connecting this to AIPs. Teachers who have completed the Fall testing will be able to access their students' tests results for actual planning. Study shows that teachers with support in accessing the A2L results are successful in using all aspects of this formative assessment system for instructional planning Sixth-eighth grade teachers will also have an overview of the logistics of A2L accompanied by the practical experience of accessing student results. With results in hand, teachers will have the opportunity to discuss instructional planning strategies using A2L results in reading and math and time for collaborative planning with cluster collogues. The connections between this short cycle assessment and the AlP will be discussed. High School teachers will be introduced to the course-specific short-cycle assessments administered through Assess2Learn. These newly developed assessments will be in phase one implementation for English 9, 10, and 11; algebra I, geometry and algebra II. All teachers will participate in the mandatory training designed to address security of the three state tests. This portion of the training meets teachers' obligation for the fall training described in state regulations. This training will replace the requirement for test reps at the schools to provide one of the two state- required trainings. Physical Education Teachers. Bargaining unit members having an assignment in physical education in grades 6 through 12 shall be subject to the following provisions:

16-3. Applicants for supervisory positions in the BOARD’s Department of Sports Administration may apply for such positions on the basis of teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level by submitting an application to the Department of Human Resources.

Physical Education Teachers. During the HLP secondary bargaining unit members who choose to include performance-based activities or physical activities during their IPLS session (ex. band, music, drama, PE) may hold session in an outdoor space or an indoor space large enough for proper 6 feet “nose to nose” distancing, as long as physical distancing and masking can be maintained, in compliance with state or local public health guidelines.
Physical Education Teachers. UEA and XXX agree that physical education is an integral part of overall student health and wellness, and agree, as finances permit, to continue to work toward a suitable physical education program that includes physical education teachers in the elementary buildings. UEA and BOE agree to form a joint committee to research the benefits of physical education teachers and the most productive way to schedule physical education into the school day/week. Said committee will report their findings to the BOE no later than May 1, 2016.
