Emergency/Compassionate Leave. C.13.1 The Applicant may be granted such bereavement leave as the Commissioner determines in any particular case upon the death of a member of the Applicant’s ‘immediate family’ or ‘household’.
Emergency/Compassionate Leave a. An employee is entitled to up to ten (10) days leave of absence per the Employment Standards Act as amended from time to time, without pay because of: a personal illness, injury or medical emergency; death, illness, injury or medical emergency of a specified person as defined below; or an urgent matter that concerns such a specified person. The parties agree any partial day of emergency leave to be one (1) days leave. Specified persons are defined as:

Emergency/Compassionate Leave. (a) The Bank shall grant paid leave to an employee not exceeding a total of ten (10) working days in any one calendar year, non-cumulative, under the following circumstances:-
Emergency/Compassionate Leave. A Long-Term Occasional Teacher whose assignment is three (3) months or longer may be absent from duty for up to two (2) days per year for emergency/ compassionate reasons with prior approval of the Superintendent of Human Resources. Such leave will include parental reasons. In the event of an emergency, the Teacher will be required to submit the appropriate form within five (5) school days of the emergency for the Superintendent of Human Resources review.

  • Emergency Childcare Employees may use vacation leave for childcare emergencies after the employee has exhausted all of their accrued compensatory time. Use of vacation leave and sick leave for emergency childcare is limited to a combined maximum of four (4) days per calendar year.

  • Personal/Carer’s Leave a) Personal/carer’s leave is defined in accordance with Section 244 of the Act and includes paid sick leave (accrued under the AFPCS) and paid or unpaid carer’s leave (accrued under the AFPCS). Casual employees shall have no entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave.

  • Emergency Service Leave ‌ Where employees' services are required for emergency operations by request from the Provincial Emergency Program or appropriate police authority, leave from work as required may be granted without loss of basic pay. If any remuneration, other than for expenses, is received, it shall be remitted to the Employer.

  • Medical Care and Emergency Leave An employee is entitled to a leave of absence without pay because of any of the following:
