Emeritus Professor. Professors who retire in good standing at the College after 20 or more years of full time equivalent service are eligible for Emeritus status. Service may include time spent as an adjunct, probationer, fellow, and tenured professor. Eligible candidates must request Emeritus Professor status from the Human Resources office.

Emeritus Professor. The University is keen to protect the status of the title Professor and therefore the criteria used to appoint Emeritus Professors is informed by the University criteria for promotion to Professor. Conferment of the title Emeritus Professor is an honour and there must be unequivocal evidence of excellence in the candidate’s field. Moreover, Emeritus Professors must demonstrate outstanding qualities and achievements in scholarship, research or practice at a national and international level and they must have made a significant contribution to the advancement of their subject or area of practice. Those appointed to Emeritus Professor must have raised or will raise the profile of the University and have contributed or will contribute to the University in gaining the highest possible academic status. The University will normally elect to appoint fixed-term Emeritus Professors to contribute to the development of the University in specified subject areas for five years in the first instance. Xxxxxxx of the term is based on performance during the preceding five years and the expectation that the candidate will continue to perform at the agreed level. The University will agree with the Emeritus Professor the nature of their involvement with the University, the expectations of their role and any benefits that they might receive; benefits may include, for example, honoraria or payment of expenses. Where appropriate, Emeritus Professors will be asked to deliver at least one public lecture a year, and to be available by agreement to advise and support students and colleagues in the development of their own research. The person holding the title Emeritus Professor must: - Demonstrate a continuing and active involvement in the area of research that is complementary to the Mission and Values of the University. - Commit to continuing their own academic development and to the development of their field. - Retain an active role in supervision of research students. It is important that the area seeking to host the Emeritus Professor demonstrates the capacity to benefit from the incoming skills and expertise.   • Assistant Professor An Assistant Professor is a member of a Faculty of the University who shall ordinarily have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Continuing Professional Development The Official Agency shall provide appropriate training for staff performing official controls, enabling them to undertake their duties competently and to carry out official controls in a consistent manner, as per legislative requirements. The Official Agency shall identify training needs for staff performing official controls and ensure that staff carrying out official controls are kept up to date in their area of competence and develop specialised expertise, in partnership with the Authority and other Local Authorities. While the provision of training is the primary responsibility of the Official Agency, the Authority may provide training interventions where the Official Agency has highlighted areas where training is required. The Authority will endeavour to facilitate networking and collaboration with other Official Agencies to assist in improving knowledge in such areas. The Authority will provide e-learning resources and training for official control staff so as to promote a consistent understanding and application of new legislation, guidance or procedures, as appropriate. The Official Agency shall support participants in using e-learning resources, disseminating knowledge or skills acquired and encourage the application of learning gained through the Authority’s training in official control activities. The Official Agency shall ensure that contractors used in the performance of the Service Contract provide evidence of Continuous Professional Development and Compliance with this section. Where staff from the Official Agency need to travel outside the Official Agency functional area to attend training courses/meetings, this shall be facilitated by the Official Agency. The Official Agency in partnership with the Authority shall develop and implement training programmes for all staff engaged in the performance of the Service Contract. Where staff have participated in Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF) the training content shall be disseminated to relevant staff/contractors in the Official Agency and other local authorities in partnership with the Authority.

An individual who is a resident of a Contracting State immediately before making a visit to the other Contracting State, and who, at the invitation of any university, college, school or other similar educational institution which is recognized by the competent authority in that other Contracting State, visits that other Contracting State for a period not exceeding two years solely for the purpose of teaching or research or both at such educational institution shall be exempt from tax in that other Contracting State on any remuneration for such teaching or research.
