EMPLOYEE EDUCATION LEAVE. The Employer will grant Employment Relations Education leave in accordance with the Employment Relations Act 2000 for employees party to this agreement to attend courses authorised by APEX to facilitate the employeeseducation and training as employee representatives in the workplace. XXXX will send a copy of the programme for the course and the name of employees attending at least 21 consecutive days prior to the course commencing. The granting of such leave will not be unreasonably withheld taking into account continuing service needs.

EMPLOYEE EDUCATION LEAVE. (a) Upon proof of successful completion, an employee shall receive reimbursement of costs for tuition and books for courses relative to assigned duties, safety and/or upgrading. Employer approval must be obtained prior to commencement of course. The employee may be required to agree to a stipulated term of employment upon approval of reimbursement.

  • Education Leave (a) If required by the Employer, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications.

  • Transition Leave At the Appointing Authority’s discretion an employee under notice of permanent layoff may be granted up to one hundred and sixty (160) hours of paid leave, ending at the date of layoff. Hours of leave may be granted at any time throughout the layoff notice period and shall not be subject to the Application and Reinstatement provision of this Article.

  • Paid Educational Leave a. An employee may request special paid leave at straight-time hourly rate which may be granted employees for educational purposes which will benefit the State by adding to or strengthening employee skills or knowledge and to allow employees to attend approved conferences, professional meetings and workshops.

  • ’ Compensation Leave If such determination cannot readily be made and all healthcare leave or annual leave subject to 100% payoff has been applied to the absence, the employee shall be placed on Official Leave until a final determination is made.

  • Vacation Leave A part-time employee shall earn vacation leave credits for each month in which the employee receives pay for at least twice the number of hours in the employee’s normal workweek, at the rate for years of service established in clause 34.02 of this Agreement, prorated and calculated as follows:
