Extended Sick Leave Fund. An extended sick leave fund (hereinafter the "Fund") shall be established according to the following terms and conditions. (a) The Fund shall be administered by a committee designated by the Association. (b) The purpose of the Fund shall be to permit employees who have exhausted their paid sick leave accumulation to continue on paid sick leave by withdrawing paid sick leave days from the Fund. (c) The Fund shall be the accumulation of contributions by individual employees. Individual employees may contribute to the Fund between one (1) and three (3) whole day(s) of paid sick leave each year from their personal accumulation. The Association shall notify the Library in writing on or before June 30 of each year the names of contributing employees and of the amounts contributed; said notification shall state that contributing employees irrevocably waive any personal rights to use or take advantage of the contributed days, and irrevocably waive any legal or equitable relief or recourse against the Library or against the Association relative to the Sick Leave Fund. Said notification shall be signed by contributing employees; upon said notification the Library shall reduce the accumulation of contributing employees accordingly; upon notification contributing employees may, according to the terms of Section 2(d) below, request withdrawals from the general Fund. (d) Only contributing employees who have exhausted their personal leave accumulation shall be allowed to withdraw from the Fund. Said withdrawals shall be requested by the employees, and must be approved by the Committee. (The Committee may approve withdrawal requests up to the balance remaining in the general Fund.) Except with Library approval, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld, the Committee shall not approve withdrawal requests for more than ten (10) days per contributing employee per calendar year. The Committee can approve requests for withdrawals, in addition to the initial ten (10) days, in two successive blocks of thirty (30) additional days per request per calendar year, provided that said request is accompanied by sufficient medical documentation, submitted to the Library’s Personnel Office. Approval by the Library of the two additional thirty-day blocks shall not be withheld without good reason.   • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Sick Leave Allowance Faculty with a full-time assignment shall accrue sick leave at the rate of eight

  • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client. This section is not applicable until the effective date of such legislation has been reached.

  • Sick Leave Accrual All eligible employees shall accrue sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per pay period of continuous employment beginning with their date of eligibility. Eligible employees being paid for less than a full eighty (80) hour pay period shall have sick leave accruals pro-rated in accord with the schedule set forth in Appendix D.

  • Sick Leave Pool The purpose of the emergency sick leave pool is to furnish additional sick days for certified staff under the negotiated agreement. This leave can only be used during the school year after the teacher has exhausted all regular accumulated sick leave and discretionary leave. Leave will be granted for catastrophic illness or injury of the employee only, on a first-come, first-ask basis. The emergency sick leave pool will be funded by the days certified staff has over the 80-day maximum sick leave this is given to each employee on July 1 of each year. All days over the 80-day accumulated sick leave the employees receive will be put into an emergency sick leave pool with an accumulation not to exceed 80 days for the pool. The maximum number of emergency sick leave pool days that may be accumulated during the school year is 20 days. A written application along with a physician’s statement documenting the nature of the catastrophic illness or injury must be sent to the building principal. The Emergency Sick Leave Pool Committee will meet within 10 calendar days after receiving the application to consider the request. The application may be sent to the building principal before the employee’s regular sick leave ends. The Emergency Sick Leave Pool Committee will consist of six members. One member from each of the four schools (“Primary, Intermediate, Middle, and High School”) the Superintendent and the building principal from the building of the applicant. All members will meet to determine ach request; however, the committee member representing the same building as the applicant will not vote. The building principal and superintendent will vote in all cases. The committee members will serve for a period of two years. The Primary and Middle School members will be elected on even calendar years and the Intermediate and the High School members will be elected on odd calendar years. If a member of the committee leaves the employment of the USD 210 before the end of his/her term, the committee will appoint a new committee member form the affected building. The committee members will be in place by September 1 of each year. The emergency sick leave bank may not be used to cover employees who are receiving pay, salary protection payments, and disability insurance payments or are eligible to receive compensation from workers’ compensation or KPERS disability.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.

  • Sick Leave Use An employee shall be granted sick leave with pay to the extent of the employee's accumulation for absences necessitated by the following conditions:

  • Sick Leave Reimbursement An employee who has received sick leave benefits for injuries caused by a third party shall be obliged, in the event such employee undertakes an action for recovery of damages against the third party, to seek recovery of the total cost of wages and benefits paid to the employee while on sick leave. The employee shall be obliged to reimburse the Employer to the extent the employee succeeded in recovering such wages and benefits. This provision includes claims made to ICBC.

  • Sick Leave Accumulation (a) An employee is eligible to accumulate sick leave with full pay at the rate of 16 working hours for each 173 1/3 hours of service. (b) The maximum number of days of sick leave which may be awarded to an employee during any consecutive twenty (20) year period of service shall not exceed 3840 hours.
