Filling Shifts. If a shift becomes available it will be filled based on seniority and availability. All shifts will be filled starting at the top of the seniority list rotating to the next person on the list till all the shifts are filled. Any changes to your assigned shifts a request for time off will need to be filled out and approved by the Executive Director. Once approved by the Executive Director it is your responsibility to find coverage for your shift. Management reserves the rights to book shifts for a block period to facilitate consistency and continuity of service delivery. It is understood that when booking such shifts, casual relief staff shall be called based on seniority on a rotating basis. It is further understood that the block of shifts will mean one (1) rotation per week or more up to a maximum. It is the casual relief staff responsibility to provide their up to date contact information. As a casual relief staff it is a requirement that you respond to all call in shifts being offered within a responsible time period or this will be considered a refusal. After three (3) refusals in a two (2) month indicated availability period, a meeting will take place with Executive Director to determine continued employment.

  • Shifts In the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, the Agency may schedule nursing personnel on a rotational shift basis for a temporary period during the opening of new facilities. The Agency shall not schedule any employee to rotate more than two (2) different shifts in any four (4) week scheduling period. Exceptions may be mutually agreed to by the parties. In the other Agencies, shifts shall not be rotated unless mutually agreed to by the parties.
