Xxxx, Resource Xxxx Xxxxxxxx, President Xxxx Xxxxxx, Resource Xxxxxx Xxxxxxx, Bargaining Committee Xxxxx Xxxxxxxxx, Resource Xxx Xxx, Bargaining Committee Letter of Intent Xxxx Xxxxxxxx, President OECTA Occasional Teachers Unit Dear Xxxx: Re: Occasional Teacher List Assignments Whereas the Board respected the individual preferences of its Occasional Teachers to work as per their submitted profile, and whereas OECTA acknowledges the Board legitimate operational need to appropriately staff its classrooms to ensure for the meaningful instruction and delivery of educational students to its students, the parties agree that during the life of the Collective Agreement the Board may exceed the 20% cap under Article 15:02 by hiring an additional 30 certified Occasional Teachers as soon as practically possible following ratification of this Collective Agreement. The parties also agree that the Board may enhance its Occasional Teacher list by removing any Occasional teacher who worked less than twenty (20) teaching days during the 2007-2008 school year. Any Occasional Teacher so removed from the Board’s list may request to be reinstated wherein such request is made by November 30, 2008. Such requests for reinstatement may not be unreasonably withheld by the Board. Through annual consultation and information sharing with OECTA, the Board may adjust its complement of Occasional Teachers to meet system needs. Any such adjustments shall be based on an analysis of data including, but not limited to: uncertified teacher utilization, daily supply teacher shortages and Occasional Teacher profile preferences. For the Board. Date and Time It is agreed and understood that School Based assignment information will be shared by the Principal to staff as well as to the In School Workload Review Committee. Letter of Agreement Between The District School Board (hereinafter called the “Board”) And District TeachersBargaining Unit (hereinafter called the Re: Secondary school students taking credit courses delivered by the Board through an electronically delivered curriculum shall be recorded on the day school register of the student’s home school. Students who are taking credit courses delivered by the Board through an electronically delivered curriculum shall be assigned to a class taught by a member of the Teachers’ Bargaining Unit. Credit courses offered by electronically delivered curriculum shall be conducted according to the requirements of the Education Act and Regulations that apply to regular day school credit courses. electronically delivered courses shall be subject to Class Size Maxima as outlined in Article of this Collective Agreement No classroom Teacher, other than the classroom Teacher delivering the course, shall be responsible for lesson preparation, teaching, monitoring, evaluation, testing and reporting of marks for students taking the credit courses. No Teacher shall be required to work beyond the school year as a result of a student’s failure to complete the course requirements. Reporting periods shall be those of the delivering Teachers’ school. All courses shall be scheduled during the regular school day and the delivering Teacher’s work location shall be in a secondary school within the delivering Board’s jurisdiction.
For the Board. Its President Its Secretary All unit members who are appointed to positions requiring a principal’s endorsement are required to undergo an assessment of performance conducted by a state approved assessor. The Board of Education will assume all state imposed assessment fees for these members. This assessment requirement applies to both individuals who are seeking provisional certification and those individuals who acquired a standard principal endorsement prior to September 1, 1990, but have not served yet in a position requiring the principal endorsement. The only individuals waived from the assessment requirement are those who are experienced principals from another state or from nonpublic schools. These selected members will assume payment for their mentoring fee. All Unit employees shall receive a full salary adjustment of three thousand dollars above their respective base salary for each year of the three year agreement. The amount of said adjustment shall be inclusive of any guide step increment amount which would otherwise have been applicable but exclusive of any adjustment of advancement to Doctorate Degree Level or for additional accumulation of Toms River District Longevity. Unit employees reassigned to other positions within the Administrative and Supervisory Council Unit shall receive adjusted salaries based on their appropriate placement on the 2003-2004 starting salary guide and adjusted according to the provisions of this Article. Salaries for new Administrative and Supervisory Council Unit members for the duration of this agreement will be decided by mutual agreement and can not be less than the base starting salary. Salaries of employees transferred into the Unit from non-unit positions or first employed in an Administrative and Supervisory Council Unit position July 1, 2003 or thereafter, during the term of this Agreement, shall be the starting salary for each position as stated in the contract plus additional amounts as provided under this article.
