An abusive, violent, and/or threatening student shall be immediately removed from the work environment. The student shall be returned to the working environment only after corrective measures have been taken.

The working and learning environment should be physical or emotional abuse. Physical abuse shall mean acts of violence against a person, the person’s and the person’s possessions. Emotional abuse consists of obscene gestures, verbal abuse, threats of physical abuse and harassment. Incidents of abuse will be treated with confidence and dealt with through Divisional Policy. This section is subject to The Public Schools Act and regulations thereto and is not intended to abrogate any management rights with respect to the student disciplinary process. Teachers shall not have the right to grieve individual student disciplinary decisions made by the Division.
