Health Professionals. 27.1 The District and UESF hereby establish the following Health Professional positions: R30 – Community Outreach Worker 27.2 The salary schedule for these positions is listed in Appendix C. 27.3 The provisions of this Agreement shall apply to Health Professionals, except Articles 9 and 17. Articles 9 and 17 shall not apply because these positions are not “paraprofessionals,” rather they are professional positions based upon licensure requirements of each position. 27.4 The work year for these positions shall be either the 181 days (school term), 207 days, or 260 days (full-term), as directed by the District to the Health Professional in writing, with a copy to the Union, by June 1 of the proceeding school year, or within twenty days after the creation of the position. 27.5 For purposes of retirement health benefits and placement on the salary scale, the District shall recognize years of service as a Health Worker IV in the District.

Health Professionals. The expenses indicated below are reimbursed as per the terms and conditions set out in the Schedule of Benefits and based on the chosen module. All of the health professionals mentioned in this document must be members in good standing with their professional corporation or association or be recognized by the Policyholder and the Insurer and must practice within their competence, as defined by law. For each of the health professionals listed below, only one session of care or treatment per day for the same patient is eligible for benefits: a) Fees of an acupuncturist b) Fees of an audiologist or a hearing therapist c) Fees of a chiropractor and chiropractor X-rays
Health Professionals. A Physician, dentist, podiatrist, pharmacist, optometrist, psychologist, clinical social worker, advance practice nurse, registered optician, licensed professional counselor, physical therapist, marriage and family therapist, chiropractor, athletic trainer, occupational therapist, speech language pathologist, audiologist, dietitian, or physician's assistant or other professional who is properly licensed or certified to provide medical care under the laws of the state where the individual practices, and who provides Medical Services which are within the scope of the individual’s license or certificate. • Homebound Member. A Member who is confined to their place of residence due to an illness or injury which makes leaving the home medically contraindicated or if the act of transport would be a serious risk to their life or health. Examples where a Member would not be considered homebound are:

Health Professionals. (a) An employee who holds or is qualified to hold the degree of Bachelor of Science Honours shall be entitled to be classified as a UG1 - Grade 1, 2nd year of experience after qualification. (b) An employee who holds or is qualified to hold the degree of Master of science shall be entitled to be classified as a UG1 - Grade 1, 3rd year of experience after qualification. (c) An employee who holds or is qualified to hold the degree of Doctor of Philosophy shall be entitled to be classified as a UG1 - Grade 1, 5th year of experience after qualification. (a) An employee who holds a four year under-graduate qualification or a three year under-graduate qualification and is required to do a twelve month internship shall be classified as or deemed to have been classified as a UG1- Grade 1, 2nd year of experience after qualification. Progression for all classifications for which there is more than one wage point shall be by annual increments, having regard to the acquisition and utilisation of skills and knowledge through experience in the employees practice setting(s) over such period.
Health Professionals. 28.2.1 Progression Through Level 1 Employees will enter at the relevant pay point and then progress annually (or in the case of a part-time or casual Employee – upon completing 1,824 work hours) to the next pay point until they reach pay point 5. 28.2.2 The progression of an Employee to pay point 6 is subject to appointment. 28.2.3 Progression through Levels 2 – 3 Progression to the next pay point for all classifications for which there is more than one pay point will be: (a) for full-time employees—by annual movement; or (b) for part-time or casual employees—after 1824 hours of similar experience, having regard to the acquisition and use of skills.

Health Professionals. 4.5.1.1 A Health Professional who is required to contribute to the preparation, implementation and/or evaluation of a developmental program for an individual child or group of children will be allowed the following periods per week of non-contact time for program preparation, report preparation, administration, professional development, training or reading. a) 19 hours per week b) 1 day per annum (administration day) 4.5.1.2 A Health Professional may also request up to an additional 2 days per annum non-contact time during times of excessive workload relating to one or more of the following tasks/duties: a) Development and Review of Individual Plans b) Assessments/Intake c) NDIS reporting d) Data collection/analysis e) Home Visits f) Preparation for new children g) Exit Summaries 4.5.1.3 Where a request for additional time is not approved, an appeal can be directed to the Operations Manager for consideration.
