Upon the completion of twenty-five years of service to the district a teacher shall receive a longevity differential of $750 per year.
In-Service Credits. A. Any tenured teacher who earns additional semester credits in courses which are approved in advance by the Board shall be reimbursed for tuition upon satisfactorily completing the course.
In-Service Credits. An Application for Approval of In-service for credit toward salary adjustment must be filed with the building principal prior to taking the in-service offering. It must be demonstrated that the in-service activity will benefit the classroom teaching experience. The application will be approved or disapproved by action of the building principal and Superintendent of Schools prior to taking the in-service offering. Any person desiring to offer an activity for in-service credit toward salary adjustment must receive approval from the building principal prior to publicizing and soliciting interest in the activity. Remuneration shall be completely separate from the teaching assistant salary schedule. Teaching assistants shall receive $20 per hour of in-service. Payment will be made in a one time payment included in the last paycheck in June. Requests for payment must be submitted to the building office by May 31. No more than 15 in-service hours per year shall be approved for payment unless otherwise authorized by the Superintendent of Schools. Additionally, only those in-service hours where the activity has taken place since June 1 of the prior school year will be accepted for payment.
In-Service Credits. 18.9.1 In-Service credits require written application to the Superintendent of Schools and approval by the Board prior to commencing the course.
In-Service Credits a. In-service courses taken for salary credit must be approved in advance by the Superintendent of Schools. The approval of such courses will not be withheld unreasonably. The following criteria are to be used by the Superintendent of Schools when deciding on whether or not to approve in-service credits:

In-Service Credits. A fifty-dollar ($50.00) one-time payment will be granted to employees upon completion of an in-service instruction course or several courses which, in the aggregate, require at least ten (10) hours of instruction. Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant and Registered Nurse shall have the fifty dollar ($50.00) increase included as part of their salary.) All in-service instructional courses must receive prior approval by the BOCES Superintendent or his/her designee.
In-Service Credits. A. Effective July 1, 2015 all North Reading credits awarded prior to this date will follow the formula of one (1) North Reading credit to equal one (1) graduate credit and will be used for placement on the new salary schedule. Any credits earned after June 30, 2015, including those that have been pre-approved as North Reading credits, will be approved only for the award of Professional Development points (PDP’s).
