Job Bidding and Promotion. Temporary Appointments A. Temporary Appointments to Exempt Positions – Less Than 30 Calendar Days These appointments may be performed by contractor, exempt personnel or upgraded bargaining unit employees. The Company retains the right to select individuals for the positions based on their leadership and managerial skills. While an upgraded bargaining unit employee is in a temporary appointment, they will continue to be represented by the Agreement and will receive appropriate overtime based on actual hours worked and perform other tasks as provided in Title 20.2 Miscellaneous – Bargaining Unit Work by Supervisors. In recognition of the responsibilities of the temporary appointment to an exempt position, the Company provides the following guidance for compensation of a bargaining unit employee so appointed: 1. All classification 5% above the current Multi-Skilled Technician Level 5 (Any Classification) B. Temporary Appointments to Exempt Positions – Greater Than 30 Calendar Days Employees accepting temporary appointments expected to exceed 30 calendar days will be assigned to the exempt positions and will not be represented by the Agreement for the duration of the appointment. As such, union dues will not be withheld from the employees’ pay and the employees will not earn service time for the purposes of transfers, promotions, demotions or layoffs. The employees will be offered appropriate compensation and benefits as the Company chooses, outside the Agreement. If the appointment ends, through no fault of the employee, before 30 calendar days have expired, the employee will receive the compensation and benefits applicable under Subsection A above, including retaining all rights provided in the Agreement. C. Temporary Opportunities – Out of Region When an out of region opportunity occurs, priority will be given to employees who have training and development plans aligned to the opportunity. The selection process will include current performance, amount of training a represented employee has already received relative to their training and development plan, business requirements, and their availability at the time. If more than one volunteer meets the requirements of the opportunity, selection will be made by seniority. At the next request for an out of region opportunity, the previous volunteer that received an opportunity will be moved to the bottom of the volunteer list until all the volunteers have been assigned or are no longer volunteering for an out of ...
Job Bidding and Promotion. All new and vacant positions which are to be filled must be posted within all departments for five (5) consecutive days. Job qualifications shall be part of the job posting, and shall clearly state the qualifications for the position posted. All employees may bid on vacant positions at the same time. In considering applicants for the position, those within the section shall be given first consideration, and the position shall be filled from within the section whenever possible. If no applicant within the section is qualified or if no section applicant applies for the position, then the position shall be filled from applicants within the staff. Those interviewing the applicants shall be the Director and/or his/her designees. Notification via memo to all bidders of the status of their bid shall be made within two (2) working weeks of the last day the job was posted. All qualified employees bidding on a job shall receive and interview.   • Training and Promotion a. The contractor will assist in locating, qualifying, and increasing the skills of minorities and women who are applicants for employment or current employees. Such efforts should be aimed at developing full journey level status employees in the type of trade or job classification involved. b. Consistent with the contractor's work force requirements and as permissible under Federal and State regulations, the contractor shall make full use of training programs, i.e., apprenticeship, and on-the-job training programs for the geographical area of contract performance. In the event a special provision for training is provided under this contract, this subparagraph will be superseded as indicated in the special provision. The contracting agency may reserve training positions for persons who receive welfare assistance in accordance with 23 U.S.C. 140(a). c. The contractor will advise employees and applicants for employment of available training programs and entrance requirements for each. d. The contractor will periodically review the training and promotion potential of employees who are minorities and women and will encourage eligible employees to apply for such training and promotion.

  • Skidding and Yarding Methods of skid- ding or yarding specified for particular areas, if any, are indicated on Sale Area Map. B6.421 Rigging. Insofar as practicable, needed rigging shall be slung on stumps or trees desig- nated for cutting.

  • Training and Professional Development 11.1 The Employer will develop and maintain an employee training and development plan and provide such plan to the Union upon request. Staff training is intended to provide an opportunity for classified staff employees for training sponsored by the University Training and Development and the UW Medical Centers Organizational Development and Training. Education/Professional Leave is intended to facilitate employee access to continuing education opportunities. Training and educational/professional leave may be used for the purpose of improving job performance, maintaining and increasing proficiency, preparing staff for greater responsibility, or increasing promotional opportunities within the framework of staff positions available at the University. 11.2 Any release time for training for employees accepted for such classes shall be in accordance with the Executive Order (currently No. 52) governing this matter. In the event that two or more employees request the same training period and supervision must limit the number of persons who may participate at one time due to work requirements, the selection will be made on a mutually agreeable basis within the department. 11.3 The training program is a proper subject for discussion by either departmental or University-wide Joint Union/Management Committees. 11.4 If the Employer requires an employee to receive training, reimbursement will be provided in accordance with the University travel rules. Employee attendance at Employer required training, either during or outside working hours, will be considered time worked and compensated in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. 11.5 Employee attendance at training not required by the Employer and not covered by Executive Order 52, either on approved leave from or outside of working hours, will be voluntary and not considered time worked.

  • Advertising and Marketing Except in so far as herein expressly provided, the Service Provider shall not make or issue any formal or informal announcement (with the exception of Stock Exchange announcements), advertisement or statement to the media in connection with this Agreement or otherwise disclose the existence of this Agreement or the subject matter thereof to any other person without the prior written consent of SARS.

  • JOB BIDDING Section 1. All job vacancies will be posted as follows: a.) The position will be posted on Kaleidascope for seven (7) calendar days. b.) The posting shall include the position (job title), posting dates, status, hours per pay period, shift, starting and ending times, pay grade and the qualifications for the position as defined in the job description for the position. A copy of all job postings will be sent to the Union. c.) Employees may not be accepted for posted positions until they have completed six (6) months of employment. In addition, an employee who has transferred to a position must remain in that position for six (6) months before applying for another posted position. Except that an employee may apply for a posted position which is at a higher pay grade without regard to the six (6) month limit. This paragraph shall not apply to intra cost center shift change or intra cost center status changes. Section 2. Posted positions shall be filled by the most senior qualified applicant from within the bargaining unit. If the position cannot be filled from within the bargaining unit, the Employer may fill the position from any source available to the Employer, provided the candidate meets all of the qualifications for hiring into that position. In all instances, the appropriate manager is responsible for the interview and selection of applicants within fourteen (14) days of the end of the posting. Section 3. A qualified applicant shall be defined as an employee who possesses the entry level qualifications in the job description and is able to do the work when required. Ability to do the work and documented performance, inclusive of disciplinary record, may be considered when awarding a position. The Employer will notify all applicants of the result of their bid in a timely manner not to exceed two (2) weeks from the date the position is awarded. Section 4. A successful bidder shall be required to serve a sixty (60) calendar day trial period exclusive of any classroom training required. At the midpoint of the trial period the employee shall be evaluated and given written notification if a problem exists. During the trial period, the employee will be returned to his/her original position if the employee elects to be returned or the Employer finds the employee is unsatisfactory in the new position.

  • Felling and Bucking Felling shall be done to minimize breakage of Included Timber and dam- age to residual timber. Unless agreed otherwise, felling shall be done by saws or shears. Bucking shall be done to permit removal of all minimum pieces set forth in A2. B6.411 Felling in Clearings. Insofar as ground conditions, tree lean, and shape of clearings per- mit, trees shall be felled so that their tops do not extend outside Clearcutting Units, construction clearings, and ar- eas of regeneration cutting. B6.000 Xxxxx Xxxxxxx. Stumps shall not exceed, on the side adjacent to the highest ground, the maximum heights set forth in A6, except that occasional stumps of greater heights are acceptable when Purchaser determines that they are necessary for safe and efficient conduct of logging. Unless otherwise agreed, Purchaser shall re-cut high stumps so they will not exceed heights specified in A6 and shall dispose of severed portions in the same manner as other logging debris. The xxxxx heights shown in A6 were selected with the objective of maximum reasonable utilization of the timber, unless Sale Area Map shows special areas where xxxxx heights are lower for aesthetic, land treatment, or silvicultural rea- sons.
