The 'Long Term Temporary Assignments' clause defines the terms and conditions under which employees are assigned to work at a different location or role for an extended, but not permanent, period. Long Term Temporary Assignments a. Long-term assignments shall be any assignment of more than two (2) hours per day and lasting ten (10) consecutive days or more. b. Long-term temporary assignments shall be posted to the bargaining unit for three (3) workdays. The posting will list the pay grade level, scheduled hours and qualifications per the job description. c. Temporary employees will not be entitled to additional benefits based on the additional hours of work i.e. sick day accumulation, longevity and holiday pay. d. Employees filling long-term temporary assignments lasting more than sixty (60) workdays will serve a trial period for the temporary assignment of no more than sixty (60) workdays and will be evaluated at the conclusion of this time period. In the event he/she is unable to perform the duties of the temporary assignment to his/her immediate supervisor's satisfaction he/she shall be removed and returned to his/her permanent position and location.
Long Term Temporary Assignments. Long term assignments are for more than two weeks. Long term assignments will be either "reassigned" or "redesigned". In either case the long term assignment will go out to bid for the duration of the absence of the driver.
Long Term Temporary Assignments. In the event an assignment becomes available as a temporary assignment after ten (10) consecutive days, but not exceeding ninety (90) work days, the Employer shall post the assignment as a temporary vacancy. It is agreed that the timeframe for this level of hourly and fringe compensation shall not exceed 90 working days and shall not begin until the eleventh (11th) workday of which the regular assigned driver has been absent for ten (10) consecutive working days from their assignment when the regular bargaining unit member is out on a leave of absence. The level of hourly compensation shall be at the rates reflected within the TRESPA Master Agreement based on the current level of hourly compensation that is being paid to the regularly assigned driver. The temporary driver shall not have a choice between insurance or cash in lieu during the timeframe she/he temporarily fills the assignment not to exceed ninety (90) working days and shall only be compensated the cash in lieu benefit that is applicable for the assignment. Effective on the ninety first (91st) day, the assignment shall be posted as a permanent vacancy in accordance with the current TRESPA Master Agreement. The ability to bid on a long term temporary assignment shall be based on a written bid submitted by the most senior driver applying for the temporary assignment. There shall be only one move per event allowed. This limit is to diminish the amount of interruption of the daily work and to allow the most senior driver the ability to gain hours and fringe benefit (cash in lieu) if applicable for the long term temporary assignment.
