Mentees. 1. Xxxxxxx may request additional days, that shall not be deducted from his or her accumulated leave days, to be used for the purpose of school business. Examples of acceptable requests for additional days include, but are not limited to, classroom observations, working with his or her mentor, curriculum work and professional development.
2. Mentees shall be provided up to $250 annual stipend toward registration, materials, and/or travel expenses for professional development. A description of the professional development opportunity, along with the date(s) and total estimated cost, must be submitted to the Superintendent or his/her designee prior to registration.
Mentees. Teachers who are in the first three years of their career (mentees) will be assigned to a mentoring cluster. Assignment to a cluster will be determined by a New Teacher Mentoring Advisory Committee. The Association shall submit the names of KEA members to be considered for the committee. The committee shall be no less than 50% Association members selected by the Superintendent from the submitted list. One (1) member shall be appointed by the KEA. Cluster assignments will be made with consideration as to level, content and building assignment. Each cluster will contain first, second and third year mentees where applicable. A new teacher to the District, but not within their first three (3) years of teaching, may also request assignment to a mentoring cluster. New teachers will be required to attend up to one (1) cluster meeting (not to exceed 1.5 hrs. each) per month as part of their professional development. Mentees. During discussions of problems with a Mentor, it is natural for you to describe situations that occur at work. If you decide to use this service we ask that you be aware during these discussions, that you must not inadvertently disclose information that is proprietary to your company, or whose knowledge outside of that company, might cause the company either embarrassment or even loss of revenue. It is incumbent on you not to let that happen! While it may be difficult to discuss such problems with your Mentor at such a generic level, please do your best.
Mentees. All new teachers will agree to participate fully in the mentoring program during their first 4 years of employment. New teachers, tenured in other districts, will enter the mentoring program at year three. Mentors agree to:

New teacher to education (1st Year Mentees)- New teachers to the district will be placed in the “new to the profession” if this is their first year in education. Brand new teachers and their mentors are expected to provide documentation to the teacher coordinator by the last day of August, October, January, and April. Documentation should be submitted by utilizing the checklist outline provided. New teachers to the profession are required to attend the six mentoring meetings held throughout the school year. New teacher to the district - A teacher who has served at least one year in education prior to their position in the Geneseo School District will be placed in the “new teacher to the district” category. New teachers to the district and their mentors are expected to provide documentation to the teacher coordinator by the last day of August, October and February. 3. Xxxxxxx shall meet regularly with assigned mentor.
Mentees a.) All teachers eligible to serve as mentees, as defined by the Commissioner’s Regulations, will participate in the program. It is the intent of this program to provide for the professional growth of mentees. The role of the mentee is to cooperatively interact with the assigned mentor in a process of professional development. Toward that end, it is the responsibility of the mentee to develop a program of activities for the purpose of professional development and to access resources when appropriate. Further responsibilities of the mentees include: maintenance of a log of all the program activities and participation in all orientation activities, training sessions, workshops, and program meetings planned and scheduled by the Steering Committee and Program Coordinator. It is expected that the intern will take full advantage of all opportunities offered by this program to grow professionally and enhance the teaching profession. To accomplish this, the intern must be willing to communicate clearly and honestly with the mentor, and program coordinator.
b.) Beyond the program, a mentee is expected to fulfill all of the contractual responsibilities as delineated in the collective bargaining agreement between the Sayville Teacher’s Association and the school district.
Mentees. Administrators who are in their first year of administrative employment with the District will be assigned a mentor. Mentees may request up to a day of release time for the purpose of job shadowing their mentor.
Mentees. The mentor teacher assignment shall be for one (1) school year. The appointment may be renewed in succeeding years.
Mentees. 1. Entry year teachers will be given a minimum of thirty (30) hours release time per school year to consult with the mentors. Additional day(s) may be granted by the Director of Human Resources. These days may be used in quarter day increments, if coverage is available.
2. The entry year teacher will spend two (2) hours with his/her mentor before the school year begins. The mentor and the mentee shall mutually determine this meeting date and time.
