Mentor Qualifications. 1. The mentor must have a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience in the district. 2. The mentor must be trained through the Ohio Department of Education’s state mentor training program. 3. The mentor must hold a valid teaching certificate/license. 4. The mentor must have demonstrated the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with professional staff members and have extensive knowledge of a variety of classroom management and instructional techniques.

Mentor Qualifications. Mentors are selected by the Employer based on demonstrated knowledge, experience and qualities that are consistent with responsibilities of mentoring in accordance with the Ohio Department of Education Resident Educator Program Standards. Employees are eligible to apply to serve as mentors in the Resident Educator Program so long as they satisfy the following qualifications: A. a current, five-year professional license or two-year provisional license that has been renewed two or more times; B. at least five (5) years of teaching experience; C. recent classroom experience within the last five (5) years; D. at least three (3) years of teaching experience at a county board of developmental disabilities; E. successful completion of the mentor application process; F. selection by the Employer to attend the state-sponsored mentor training; G. successful completion of all state-sponsored mentor training including, but not limited to, Instructional Mentoring and Resident Educator-1; and H. commitment to adhere to the Ohio Department of Education Resident Educator Program Standards for mentors.
Mentor Qualifications. A. Current certificated unit member who has had permanent status for at least three (3) years with XXX; B. Most recent evaluation does not include an improvement plan. C. If there is no Unit Member who has the qualifications to provide mentor support, then the 3 year requirement in 4.A. above may be waived by the decision of the NAMS committee; however, any Unit Member chosen must be a permanent member.

Mentor Qualifications. To be eligible to serve as a Mentor to a Resident Educator, a teacher must hold a five-year professional license or two-year provisional license that has been renewed two (2) or more times (permanent certificate holders are also included); and have five (5) years teaching experience, three (3) of which were in the District. Preferably, Mentors should be from the same subject area and grade level as the Resident Educator. Additionally, it is preferred that Mentors be individuals who have demonstrated their ability to utilize a variety of instructional methods and communicate with colleagues constructively.
