Military and Peace Corps Leaves. Any employee who may enlist or be conscripted into the Defense Forces of the United States for military service or training or into the Peace Corps, shall be reinstated as a regular employee with full credit including the annual increment(s).

Military and Peace Corps Leaves a. A faculty member who is drafted or otherwise called to active duty, or who leaves his position for extended active duty in the military service of the United States during a state of war or national emergency, shall be granted a military leave for the duration of such war or national emergency. He shall be entitled to return to his position, provided his discharge from the service is honorable and he is able to pass a health examination given by a medical examiner selected by the Chancellor. Application must be made within sixty days following his discharge from the service. b. During the period of such authorized military leave, the Board will continue to pay all required faculty member contributions to the fund of the State Universities Retirement System. c. Restoration shall be at the salary lane and step held at the beginning of military leave plus any advancement in salary steps that the faculty member would have been granted had he been continuously employed and complied with requirements for salary step increases. d. A faculty member who leaves his position to serve with the United States Peace Corps will be afforded the same benefits as a faculty member on military leave, except that contributions to the retirement funds will not be made by the Board during the Peace Corps leaves and Peace Corps leaves may not exceed two calendar years. e. A faculty member may take short leaves of absence to perform temporary active duty with Reserve or National Guard units. During such leave of absence and while engaged in the performance of such military duty, a faculty member will be paid his basic salary provided he remits to the Board any sums of money paid to him as compensation for the performance of such military duty.

Any administrator who may enlist or be conscripted into the Armed Forces of the United States or the Peace Corps or be called to active duty in the military service shall be reinstated as a regular administrator in the administrative staff with full credit, including the annual increment(s) under the administrative salary schedule. b. Request for return from leave must be made in writing by November 1 or March 1. c. Military Leave shall not extend beyond the time of original enlistment or beyond the time necessary to discharge the administrator’s military obligation. d. Accumulated benefits are carried forward from the effective date of leave of absence and are credited upon return to employment at the termination of the leave. Payment for accumulated sick leave days may not be granted during the term of such leave.

  • Military Leaves 1. Short Term Military Leaves of Absence (Reserve or National Guard Duty)--Less Than 90 Days Per Calendar Year a. Subject to the terms and conditions provided in subsections 1.b. through 1.d. of this Article, below, employees shall be entitled to time off with pay when they are required to take a leave of absence for: (i) military training duty and/or (ii) military duty in the State of Wisconsin because of riot or civil disturbance.

  • Military Caregiver Leave The employer shall grant an employee who is a family member of a covered service member an unpaid leave of up to twenty-six (26) weeks (inclusive of the twelve (12) weeks granted under 1. above) in a single twelve (12) month period to care for the covered service member who has a serious illness or injury incurred in the line of duty on active duty.

  • Military Leave An employee will be granted unpaid Military Leave in accordance with the Employment Standards Act. The employee will give as much notice as is reasonably possible and will provide a copy of the Military Notice when received.

  • Military Spouse Leave Up to fifteen (15) days of unpaid leave will be granted to an eligible employee who averages twenty (20) or more hours of work per week, whose spouse is on leave from deployment or before and up to deployment during a period of military conflict. An employee who takes leave under this provision may elect to substitute any of the accrued paid leave to which the employee is entitled for any part of the leave provided under this provision. The employee must provide his or her supervisor with notice of the employee’s intention to take leave within five (5) business days of receiving official notice that the employee’s spouse will be on leave or of an impending call to active duty. This provision shall be administered in accordance with RCW 49.77.

  • Military Family Leave Employees may use vacation leave for leave as required by the Military Family Leave Act, RCW 49.77 and in accordance with Article 19.13.

  • Temporary Military Leave An employee who is a member of the reserve corps of the Armed Forces of the United States or of the National Guard or of the Naval Militia shall be granted a Temporary Military Leave while engaged in military duty ordered for the purposes of military training, drills, encampment, naval cruises, special exercises or like activity as such member providing that the period of ordered duty does not exceed one hundred eighty (180) calendar days including time involved in going to and returning from such duty.

  • Military Military leave without pay shall be granted to any employee who is inducted or enlists in any branch of the armed forces of the United States for the period of said service and three (3) months thereafter, or three (3) months after recovery of any wound or sickness at time of discharge. A similar leave shall be granted to the spouse of any employee who is so inducted or enlists.

  • Military Leaves of Absence The provisions of the Military and Veterans Code of the State of California shall govern military leave of County employees.
