Newly Hired Educational Assistants and Food Coordinators. The parties agree that the prorating of paid in-service days for newly-hired Educational Assistants and Food Coordinators shall be as follows: Educational Assistant A and B and Food Coordinators Educational Assistants A and B, and Food Coordinators who commence employment with the Division, in any given year, between school opening and November 30 will be entitled to two (2) in-service days. Those individuals commencing employment between December 1, and March 31 of the school year will be entitled to one (1) in-service day. Those individuals commencing employment after April 1 of the school year will not be entitled to any (0) in-service days. Educational Assistant C and D Educational Assistants C and D, who commence employment with the Division in any given year, between school opening and November 15 of the school year will be entitled to three (3) in-service days. Those individuals commencing employment between November 16 and January 31 of the school year will be entitled to two (2) in-service days. Those individuals commencing employment between February 1 and April 30 of the school year will be entitled to one (1) in-service day. Those individuals commencing employment after April 30 of the school year will not be entitled to any (0) in-service days. The period of disability occasioned by pregnancy, labour and delivery, and recovery therefrom will vary in each individual case depending upon the circumstances involved. The state will make a reasonable effort to continue existing training programs in law enforcement techniques and to develop new programs in performance review techniques, supervisory skills, and managerial techniques.

  • Professional Development and Training 4.1 The purpose of professional development and training requirements for interpreters is to maintain the skill levels interpreters possess at the time they pass their interpreter certification examination, and to further enhance their skills and knowledge. Both the State and the Union encourage interpreters to complete training and continuing education activities.

  • Employment and Training Administration The ratio of trainees to journeymen on the job site shall not be greater than permitted under the plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration. Every trainee must be paid at not less than the rate specified in the approved program for the trainee's level of progress, expressed as a percentage of the journeyman hourly rate specified in the applicable wage determination. Trainees shall be paid fringe benefits in accordance with the provisions of the trainee program. If the trainee program does not mention fringe benefits, trainees shall be paid the full amount of fringe benefits listed on the wage determination unless the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division determines that there is an apprenticeship program associated with the corresponding journeyman wage rate on the wage determination which provides for less than full fringe benefits for apprentices. Any employee listed on the payroll at a trainee rate who is not registered and participating in a training plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the classification of work actually performed. In addition, any trainee performing work on the job site in excess of the ratio permitted under the registered program shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the work actually performed. In the event the Employment and Training Administration withdraws approval of a training program, the contractor will no longer be permitted to utilize trainees at less than the applicable predetermined rate for the work performed until an acceptable program is approved.

  • Educational Services Any service or supply for education, training or retraining services or testing including: special education, remedial education; cognitive remediation; wilderness/outdoor treatment, therapy or adventure programs (whether or not the program is part of a Residential Treatment facility or otherwise licensed institution); job training or job hardening programs; educational services and schooling or any such related or similar program including therapeutic programs within a school setting.

  • EDUCATION ASSISTANTS 1. All Education Assistants employed by the Board to assist teachers in carrying out their responsibilities and duties under the School Act and Regulations shall be assigned to classes and/or students by the Principal and shall be assigned specific duties by the teacher during the designated periods of time.
