Official Time and Travel a. Official Time: Union officials who are employees will be granted a reasonable amount of official time to perform the following representational functions. The actual amount of official time to be used may vary in each situation. (1) Review Management’s proposals concerning negotiations and changes in policies, practices, and matters concerning working conditions. (2) Receive, review, prepare, and present grievances. (3) Handle complaints such as Fair Labor Standards Act, Merit Systems Pro- tection Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Office of Special Counsel, and Office of Workers Compensation. (4) Prepare for negotiations. (5) Negotiate. (6) Prepare reports required by Section 7120(c) of Chapter 71, Title 5 of the U.S. Code. (7) For members of the Executive Board or their designee: visit, phone, and write to elected representatives in support of or opposition to pending or desired legislation that would impact working conditions of employees repre- sented by the FSC. Up to 320 hours of official time for up to 12 Union officials may be used for the annual Union-sponsored congressional contact meeting. The 320-hour bank of hours or number of attending Union officials may be increased by agreement of the National Parties. Within 30 days prior and then following the meeting, the FSC will provide Management with a list of the employees, dates of travel, home unit, and the number of hours used by each employee. (8) Perform other representational and contract administration functions, such as: time spent in meetings with management; communicating with unit employees regarding working conditions and conditions of employment; disseminating labor-management information to bargaining unit employees; representing the labor organization in investigations pursuant to 5 USC 7114(a)(2)(B); represent- ing the labor organization in formal discussions; participating in Partnership activities; reviewing and studying policies or other matters affecting the unit; researching, preparing; and other related matters. (9) Contact other Union officers regarding the aforementioned functions. b. Travel and Per Diem: Travel and per diem are not entitlements under 5 USC

Official Time and Travel a. All official time shall be correctly coded on the employee’s time and attendance record (T&A) using the following codes: 35 – Negotiations (limited to Term Negotiations) 36 – Mid-term negotiations 37 – All contract administration and representations activities, (such as meetings with Management) except negotiations and grievances/appeals/complaints 38 – Representational activities for the Union or employees in grievances/appeals/complaints. b. Union officials who are Agency employees shall spend the majority of their paid time performing Agency business or attending necessary assigned training in order that they develop and maintain the skills necessary to perform their Agency duties at a successful performance level. c. Union officials who are Forest Service employees may be granted official time that is reasonable, necessary and in the public interest to perform the following representational functions: 1. Review Management’s proposals concerning negotiations and changes in policies, practices, and matters concerning working conditions. 2. Attendance at a formal discussion or Xxxxxxxxxx meeting. 3. Receive, review, prepare, and present grievances. 4. Prepare for negotiations and negotiate. 5. Prepare for and participate in Impasse proceedings. d. Official time may not be granted or used for: 1. Internal union business 2. Political or lobbying activities e. The most economical and efficient means will be used to conduct representational activities. Travel and per diem are at management discretion and may be approved for designated Union Officials who are Agency employees and performing representational functions as specified in this Agreement when Management determines it is an effective and efficient use of resources and the travel serves the convenience of the Forest Service or otherwise is in the interest of the Government. Use of Government owned or leased vehicles for official time may be authorized and will be in accordance with the provisions of Article 7.
Official Time and Travel. The parties agree that employees serving as Union representatives on Partnership meetings will be on official time and travel as provided in the Labor Management Partnership MOU dated 05\24\95.

Related to Official Time and Travel

  • Travel Time Leave provided in paragraphs A and B of this Article shall apply to and cover actual and necessary travel to and from such meetings required during normal working hours on the day of the meeting or negotiations, except that MSEA-SEIU bargaining team members traveling 100 miles or more to negotiations shall be entitled to travel time outside of days of negotiations.

  • Personal Time Employees shall be eligible to take accrued PTO time for personal reasons. Such time must be scheduled in advance in accordance with Employer policies and be approved by the employee's supervisor. Personal time PTO must be taken in at least one hour increments.

  • Personal Time Off Executive shall be entitled to paid time off in accordance with the Company’s policies applicable to executives.

  • Travel time allowance All employees shall be paid an allowance (See Appendix A) for each day on which they present themselves for work. The allowance shall also be paid for rostered days off.

  • Use of Annual Leave The Employer may, upon request of a practitioner and with sufficient cause being shown, which may in the circumstances be with little notice, grant that practitioner single days of annual leave for pressing personal emergencies.

  • Abuse of Leave If it is found that a leave is not actually being used for the purpose for which it was granted, the Employer may cancel the leave and direct the employee to report for work by giving written notice to the employee.

  • Use of Personal Leave An employee may use personal leave credits to conduct personal business that cannot be conducted outside of normal working hours and for personal emergencies.

  • Workday and Workweek The regular workweek of a full-time employee in the bargaining unit shall be forty (40) hours and shall consist of five (5) consecutive days of eight (8) hours per day.

  • Cashing out of Annual Leave (a) Paid Annual Leave must not be cashed out except in accordance with an agreement under clause 41.8. (b) Each cashing out of a particular amount of paid Annual Leave must be the subject of a separate agreement under clause 41.8. (c) The Employer and an Employee may agree in writing to the cashing out of a particular amount of accrued paid Annual Leave by the Employee. An agreement this clause must state: (i) the amount of Annual Leave to be cashed out and the payment to be made; and (ii) the date on which the payment is to be made. (d) An agreement under clause 41.8 must be signed by the Employer and Employee and, if the Employee is under 18 years of age, by the Employee’s parent or guardian. (e) The payment must not be less than the amount that would have been payable had the Employee taken the Annual Leave at the time the payment is made. (f) An agreement must not result in the Employee’s remaining accrued entitlement to paid Annual Leave being less than four (4) weeks. (g) The Employer must keep a copy of any agreement under clause 41.8 as an Employee record.

  • Cashing out annual leave The employee may, with the agreement of the employer, request in writing, to cash out up to two weeks of their annual leave during each 12 month period. Annual leave cannot be cashed out in advance of it being credited to the employee. Cashed out annual leave will be paid at the rate of pay that the employee receives at the time when the request is made.
