Use of Annual Leave. The Employer may, upon request of a practitioner and with sufficient cause being shown, which may in the circumstances be with little notice, grant that practitioner single days of annual leave for pressing personal emergencies.
Use of Annual Leave. Annual leave shall be granted in accordance with Section 3 for the following purposes:
Use of Annual Leave. The following conditions will obtain relative to the faculty member’s use of annual leave or Western’s payment thereof to survivors.
Use of Annual Leave. Subject to the operational requirements, the Employer agrees to permit employees to take all of the annual leave earned by them in the year in which it is earned. Where, however, in any year the Employer has been unable to grant all of the annual leave earned by the employee in that year, the unused portion of annual leave shall be carried over into the following year.
Use of Annual Leave. An employee may use up to 38 hours of their annual leave entitlements each year to care for an immediate family member or partner.
Use of Annual Leave. An employee may utilize accumulated annual leave on the basis of request and approval by the employee’s immediate supervisor or other designated representative.
Use of Annual Leave. (1) Annual leave shall be accrued before being taken, except in those instances where the President or representative may authorize the advancing of annual leave. When leave has been advanced and employment is terminated prior to the faculty member accruing sufficient annual leave to credit against the leave that was advanced, the University shall deduct from the faculty member's warrant the cost of any annual leave advanced under this provision. All requests for annual leave shall be submitted by the faculty to the supervisor as far in advance as possible and appropriate. Approval of the dates on which a faculty member wishes to take annual leave shall be at the discretion of the supervisor and shall be subject to the consideration of departmental/unit and organizational scheduling.
(2) The transfer of unused annual leave from a governmental entity to an annual leave accruing position is not permitted unless a reciprocal agreement in writing between the Board or its representative and the previous employing entity is in effect.
Use of Annual Leave. A. Scheduled Scheduled absences are those absences from duty which are able to be requested in advance by 8 p.m. on the employee's shift preceding the absence.
Use of Annual Leave. Except as otherwise noted, annual leave will be granted as requested by the employee and consistent with the operational requirements of the work unit. When such operational requirements limit the number of employees who may be absent at any one time, the employee with the greatest seniority shall be given preference in scheduling absences. The Chief of Police may defer annual leave as appropriate or require advance scheduling of annual leave to provide for adequate staffing levels and orderly operation of the department, provided that, in so doing, employees shall not be required to lose accrued annual leave under the maximum carry-over provisions as contained in Section 20.02.
Use of Annual Leave. An administrator may use up to five (5) days of annual leave during student contact days during a school year without seeking prior approval from his or her supervisor. After an administrator has used five (5) days of annual leave during student contact days, he or she must seek prior written approval from his or her supervisor before using any additional annual leave during student contact days.
