Orientation Day. All bargaining unit members not normally scheduled to work on the “Orientation Day” held prior to the first day of school shall be invited to attend said activity at the employee’s option, with a maximum of three (3) hours of compensation.
Orientation Day. Except for new certified/licensed personnel, pro-rata compensation or compensatory time off will be granted to certified/licensed personnel who will be required by the School Committee to attend Orientation Day.
Orientation Day. 1. Nurses who were not employed by the Newark Public Schools during the previous school year may be required to report one (1) day prior to Organization Day for orientation. The Orientation Day shall occur on one of the in-service days specified in Section A. above. Nurses who are required to attend orientation day will be excused from the in-service on that day. Orientation day may be a full length work day without additional compensation. The purpose of the orientation days shall be to inform new nurses of system-wide policies, practices, and procedures related to their jobs and/or employment.
Orientation Day the schedule for the first full day for all teachers (Orientation Day) shall provide opportunity for an Association meeting of at least thirty (30) minutes in length during the unscheduled portion of the noon hour.

Orientation Day. Teacher Orientation Day shall be scheduled the first day of the school year. Teachers shall be allowed to utilize at least two (2) hours of orientation for classroom preparation. It is recognized that teachers have a professional obligation to prepare their classrooms for opening day.
