Other Unpaid Leave of Absence. The Superintendent or the Superintendent's designee shall have the discretion to grant full-time contracted teachers unpaid leaves of absence for up to one (1) year for other reasonable purposes and on such terms and conditions as the Superintendent or the Superintendent's designee deems appropriate.

Other Unpaid Leave of Absence. 1. During the full duration an employee’s employment in the District, he/she will be permitted up to two (2) unpaid leaves of absence for non-medical reasons.
Other Unpaid Leave of Absence. Unpaid leave of absence may be granted for other justifiable reasons by the Office of Human Resources/Legal Affairs upon written application thereof. Such leaves may be granted for not more than forty-five (45) calendar days in total and only on the written approval of the Office of Human Resources/Legal Affairs and only when the services of the employee are not immediately required and there are employees available in the department capable of doing her/his work.

  • Unpaid Leave of Absence If an employee is on an unpaid leave of absence, then vacation leave, compensatory time, or sick leave cannot be used for the purpose of maintaining eligibility for an Employer Contribution by keeping the employee on a State payroll for one (1) working day per pay period.

  • Unpaid Leaves of Absence A. A department head or designee may grant an unpaid leave of absence for a period not to exceed one (1) year. The employee shall provide substantiation to support the employee's request for an unpaid leave of absence.

  • Extended Leave of Absence Professional employees who have attained renewable contract status may request extended leaves of absence for one (1) year without pay under any one of the circumstances listed in this section. All requests for such extended leave of absence will be applied for and granted or rejected in writing. Such application will be reviewed by the principal and superintendent. If the latter approves, he/she will recommend that the leave be granted by the Board. An employee returning from an extended leave will be assigned to the same position as that which he/she held before assuming the leave, providing that position still exists. By mutual agreement between the employer and the employees, he/she may be given a different assignment. Extended leaves of absence may be requested under, but not limited to, the following:

However, FLSA compensatory time off shall not be counted against the employee’s four (4) month (nine [9] pay period [720 hours]) family or medical leave entitlement. Therefore, any use of FLSA compensatory time off under this Section shall extend the employee’s family or medical leave by the total amount of FLSA compensatory time off used.
