Outside Teaching Experience Sample Clauses

The Outside Teaching Experience clause defines the rules and limitations regarding an employee's engagement in teaching activities outside their primary employment. Typically, this clause requires employees to disclose and, in some cases, seek approval before accepting teaching positions at other institutions or organizations. It may specify whether such activities can occur during work hours or must be conducted outside of regular job responsibilities. Outside Teaching Experience. New teachers hired will be allowed credit on the salary schedule for up to two (2) years of outside teaching experience. Credit is granted only if at the time the teaching service was rendered the teacher met the present District minimum requirements for contract status. There may be exceptions, as prescribed by the District, when the District will allow credit on the salary schedule for up to eight (8) years for outside teaching experience.
Outside Teaching Experience. The Board may place teachers signing a contract with the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇-▇▇▇ Public Schools for the first time on any step on the salary schedule the Board desires.
Outside Teaching Experience. All teachers, newly employed, may be given credit as determined by the superintendent on the agreed salary schedule set forth in Schedule A for full years of outside teaching experience in any school district.
Outside Teaching Experience a. Up to ten (10) years outside teaching experience will be allowed if the Teacher has teaching experience in another district. The Teacher shall be credited on the salary schedule for all of that experience up to a maximum of ten (10) years. b. After initial placement, each Teacher shall be credited with one (1) year experience on the schedule, for each year taught. Each Teacher shall have one (1) year to appeal initial placement.
Outside Teaching Experience. All teachers will be given credit for outside teaching experience as agreed between the School District and the teacher.

Partial school-year or part-time service is not applicable. One year’s credit on the salary schedule is allowed for 180 days of substitute service in the Detroit Public Schools. The maximum allowance for such substitute teaching is granted on the same basis as credit is granted for outside teaching service upon subsequent approval for contract status. One year of military service may be used in lieu of one year of teaching experience as outlined above.
Outside Teaching Experience. A teacher new to the school system shall be granted up to six (6) years outside teaching experience in a duly accredited school toward initial placement on the salary schedule. A new teacher may be granted more than six (6) years of outside teaching experience if in fact that teacher has actually had such experience. No new teacher may be placed on a higher step on the salary schedule than is appropriate to their actual teaching experience.
Outside Teaching Experience. Credit for experience outside the school system shall be given for years of successfully teaching and work experience directly related to teaching in the teaching field only at the time of initial employment.   • Work Experience A sabbatical leave may be granted for contracted work or externship with other educational institutions, government agencies, corporations, or foundations related to the applicant’s discipline. A detailed, specific plan must be submitted by the applicant and approved by the Salary and Leaves Committee as likely to improve the applicant’s teaching effectiveness, strengthen the College’s academic program, or otherwise bring a clear benefit to students.

  • Previous Experience 31.01 New employees will be classified according to previous comparable experience for the purpose of establishing wage rates. The Co-operative shall not be required to recognize previous experience of new employees who have not worked in the same or similar business in the past two (2) years. Recognized credit for previous experience shall be applicable to qualifying employees commencing with the first working day following completion of said employee's probationary period. 31.02 It shall be the responsibility of the employee to supply proof of their previous experience prior to the completion of their probationary period. Otherwise, all claim for credit for previous experience shall be forfeited by the employee. 31.03 In the event of any disagreement as to credit granted for previous experience, such disagreement shall be considered a grievance, and the Grievance Procedure provided in the Agreement shall apply.

  • TEACHING CONDITIONS The parties recognize that optimum school facilities for both student and teacher are desirable to insure the high quality of education that is the goal of both the Association and the Board. It is also acknowledged that the primary duty and responsibility of the teacher is to teach and that the organization of the school and school day should be directed toward ensuring that the energy of the teacher is primarily utilized to this end.
