Paraprofessional Employees. (A) Any employee who after ten (10) years of continuous service leaves the employ of the Board either by resignation or lay- off shall be eligible to receive payment for accumulated sick leave under the procedures set forth in Section (B). [1] “Continuous employment” in this Article shall be defined as working in a unit position without a break in service except as noted in (a) below. [a] The layoff of an employee by the Board shall not constitute a “break in service.” However, the period of time on layoff shall not count towards the ten (10) years required in (A) above. [2] “Year” in this Article is defined as working in a unit position more than one hundred twenty (120) days during any September 1 through June 30 periods. [3] In order to receive payment for accumulated sick leave, employees shall apply for same within sixty (60) days of separation. Applications shall be made on forms supplies by the Board with payment to be made by second payday after application. [4] A laid-off employee who, although eligible for said payments does not apply for same, shall upon recall, have all accumulated sick leave days restored. A laid- off employee who does receive such payments and is subsequently recalled shall not have previously accumulated leave restored.
Paraprofessional Employees. 1. The standard workday for paraprofessionals shall be six (6) hours per day, exclusive of lunch but inclusive of at least two (2) fifteen (15) minute breaks each workday. 2. Paraprofessional employees shall have a thirty (30) minute unpaid, duty- free lunch break daily. 3. The standard workweek for paraprofessionals shall be thirty (30) hours/week, Monday through Friday.
Paraprofessional Employees. 20.1 The district and the association intend that interpretation of this Article be consistent with California Education Code provisions applicable to assignment and service of paraprofessional employees, including California Education Code section 35021 and sections 45340- 45367. 20.2 Unit members may at any time request that the district assign a paraprofessional employee to assist the unit member in delivering services to students. Unit members shall have the right to interview prospective paraprofessional employees prior to assignment. 20.3 Evaluation of paraprofessional employees shall be conducted by administrative employees and shall not be the responsibility of the unit member. Unit members may provide input to the appropriate administrator concerning the strengths and weaknesses of the performance of the paraprofessional employee. 20.4 Any complaint by a paraprofessional employee regarding a unit member shall be in accordance with the complaint procedure of this agreement.

  • Casual Employees A casual employee is one who is not regularly scheduled to work other than during periods that such employee shall relieve a regular full-time or regular part-time employee.   • Other Employees Except as may be required in the performance of Employee’s duties hereunder, Employee shall not cause or induce, or attempt to cause or induce, any person now or hereafter employed by the Company or any of its affiliates to terminate such employment. This obligation shall remain in effect while Employee is employed by the Company and for a period of one (1) year thereafter.

  • NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS 5.1 This Agreement will be read and interpreted in conjunction with the National Employment Standards (NES).
